New Music Download: Falkenbach

Folkish black metal, most of you should be familiar with Falkenbach. I'm quite surprised I like this band (i.e. guy). I picked up Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty on a whim about a year ago and the album kicked ass. I was shocked. "Heralder" is from the upcoming album, Heralding - The Fireblade. This album was originally written as Falkenbach's debut, but was scapped due to bad recordings and whatnot. Apparently the whole album has been re-recorded and—as this song would suggest—will result in something a bit heavier than the heavily folk-influenced Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty.

Falkenbach is awesome. I usually listen to them in the morning and always when I go camping.

I was unaware there were some other CD releases. I need to find them, Ok... is a killer album!

All Hail Vratyas Vakyas. One of the greatest folk/viging bands ever. Hopefully that new album "Heralding - The Fireblade" comes out soon.

I think this is Falkenbachs 4th album to be release in Nov. and yes they are all really cool albums within this genre. Which I like alot.

I've got Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty but I've heard En Their Medh Riki Fara and Magni Blandinn Ok Megintri (I once tried to introduce these albums to a friend after a few beers but couldn't get the names out). I liked Ok Nefna... and En Their Medh... most, Falkenbach has the right feeling for this kind of music. I always find myself thinking about cold winds, viking mythology and nature when I listen to this guys works.
