Long time guitarist Rick Hunolt departed the band prior to the current album recordings because of family commitments and has since been replaced by another well known Bay Area axe shredder, Lee Altus (ex-Heathen).

Altus is still in Heathen.

Indeeed. And they do have a new album coming out soon. Go to their website and check the forum for three new demo tracks. They're sick!

I gave it 79/100, i think this had a lot of potential,i mean Lee Altus its on it,but the riffs were a let down instead.i like it but not that much, maybe my score will drop in next weeks.

This is groove bullshit. I agree with whoever said there isn't a Thrash riff to be found here.

He's a lyric from Raze:
"Light this motherfucker like a roman candle
Burn this bitch straight to the ground"

Erm, word.

mmm i find the riffs mediocre, the guitar tone shitty, the production too polished. There's alot of groove riffs to be found at POTF, FD, ISI and TOTD, why complain about it now ?

and Altus is still in Heathen........ better change that before you confuse others.

Yeah, I've only listened to it once. But I agree with the ones who say this was a let down after Tempo :(
At first I thought that hey this Rob Dukes guy ain't too bad, not on par with Souza, but gets by just fine... Then I started to get irritated by the guitar sound: it sounds like just one guitar track and too dry... Then I started to get images of Souza in my head as the lyrics were obviously penned with Souza in mind. I also found the riffs and songs to be quite derivative and uninspired. And then it hit me: although Dukes is an ok singer, this album would have desperately needed Souzas vocals as icing on the cake, as this would have raised the album's appeal by a notch. It still wouldn't have been great, but definately better as Exodus album.

This is dissapointing because it's not as good as TOTD. It's not bad though. I'd probably give it somewhere in the 80's not sure just where yet. Need some more listens.

On my first listen I did not like this album. Specially the vocals, which at first sound like Souza's, but then they become somewhat more growling. I will try it a bit more ...

I never found Exodus that interesting. Sure, they play great thrash, but it's very boring music, for extreme fans only.

I agree.

The only thing they've done that raised my interest was Tempo of the Damned, and the vocals were shit. I look forward to hearing this one, should be nice to not have to listen to that idiot Zetro fight the otherwise good music with his awful squealing.

Exodus were never that great as a whole, but they still released Bonded By Blood, the best thrash album ever. They got it all right in that album, venomous vokills, thrashing riffs, well poseur killing intense metal to bang your head against the stage. It's also influential to the bay area scene, and thrash in general, well 2nd to Venom of course.

Whoever said that nobody knows what thrash metal sounds like anymore.....is right, at least concerning the bands that started the fucking movement. Geez, I know bands like to progress, but goddamnit, if you're gonna call yourself a thrash metal band you've got to fucking thrash. Grooving is for fags, leave that to Ozzy and other modern metal bands. Thrash is not modern.....in anyway. If you are a thrash metal fan then you are a child of the 80's and there should be no compromise for you. So bands like the Haunted or Arch Enemy that claim to be thrash....are not. And the old bands that used to thrash have forgotten how. So goddamnit, someone needs to save thrash. Hopefully Heathen can restore some credibility to this genre. There are a lot of good underground bands, but unfortunately for them only the die hard thrash metal fans will buy their stuff, and they're not nearly as numerous as the symphonic power metal fans. So basically the thrash metal that is being released and pushed hard, is crap from washed out old fuck heads who need to make a buck to feed their families cuz they spent the last ten years of their life doing drugs. So I guess what I'm trying to say is....Fuck Exodus, when Baloff died the band lost any metallic cred they had.

Replace 'thrash' with 'black', 'death' and it could be the rantings of someone who misses the good old days of early Bathory or Death. So they aren't making pure thrash, so what? Thrash is just like every other metal genre in that it evolves to survive.

Exodus was never intense at all, let along intense enough to kill posers.

You said exactly what I was going to say about this album.

Bonded by Blood kills 50 posers a day.
