If you accidentally misspelled 'trash' and wrote 'thrash' instead then the answer to your question is: Yes

Actually heard another track today... that "pull harder" one. Thought it was much better than the stuff I'd heard earlier. There's a slight bit of thrash in there I think, but it is just one of many elements. You certainly wouldn't say they were a thrash band... (not that anyone here has really tried to).

But anyway, I still have the same problem with them that I do with everyone else from that scene... Too clean, could be anyone else... Plus the vocals are very inexpressive.

The new album was overproduced. Thus the too-clean feel. I look forward to seeing them live with Children of Bodom and Amon Amarth.

His vocals do need some work, but he's not awful. At least he sings on key, even live. Hell of a lot more than you can say for James of Shitallica.

He reminds me of Jamey Jasta, in that he delivers every single line (excluding the "melody" parts) in exactly the same tone of voice. It sounds like a computer program, where you type some words in, and the computer will deliver them in a hardcore voice.

Hetfield > Heafy

I am going to this concert as well. I just hope Trivium plays first so I can show up fashionably late and miss the shitty performance they will undoubtedly give.

Very risky! What if they play last and you miss Amon?

I think they're playing second; that's how it's billed at the Palladium, where I'm seeing the show.

Very true Z, that would be tragic. Especially since I probably wouldn't see this show if AA wasn't on the bill.

trivium isn't thrash

reasons=

1. the people that show up to their concerts to see them
2. the emo/screamo vocals
3. the almost complete lack of thrash riffs...maybe recycled and dumbed down metallica riffs...which weren't always completely thrashy anyways

and whoever said breakdowns and group shouting isn't thrash is stupid...

sepultura-dead embryonic cells...the origin of the breakdown in my opinion

testament-every song they ever fucking wrote...perfect example of group shouting

That's not a reason.

The vocals are not emo, nor screamo. I'd say they're a cross between metalcore and heavy metal/thrash vocals.

Well they certainly have some thrash riffs, but as I already stated, for the most part they're not thrash.

There is definitely an element of scr/emo present in the vocals. Whether that's a conscious addition or just because the vocalist is young and a faggot, I don't know.

No, they are not fucking thrash. They are metalcore, but they steal lots of old Metallica and Testament riffs.

And Ascendancy is lousy.

They are not metalcore. If this album came out in 1987 reactions would be completely different. It is a mix of traditional metal and thrash. The vocals kill it, though, and are more metalcore than not, but musically this band is NOT metalcore.

they're metalcore +1. They should be called METALLICORE. these fuckers are on roadrunner, qed.

opeth is too, as well as obituary, and i think thats it, but just saying....

-always shite

uh, have you been to a trivium concert? i went because i went to see black dahlia murder and 3 inches of blood. 14 year old kids who always look like they are about to cry or write in a blog about how they cried-but it's okay because they are badass enough to be oblitterated by me in a pit...

and if you haven't heard in emo choruses from trivium, you don't and have never heard trivium

Although I agree that there is about as much thrash in Trivium as there is water on the sun, but that's not a reason. There were kids like that at Gwar.
