Well, I've always found Trivium to be excellent musicians, but the music that they create is ultimately soulless. Of course, everyone goes on about them being the "new Metallica", failing to recognise that they are nothing more than a well-played metalcore band with some of the worse song titles I've ever heard ("A bullet in the face of trepidation", talk about vanishing up your own arse!).

The fact is, people will mosh to any rubbish. I saw a Pearl Jam video the other day, and it could have been what you were describing (without the circle pits, admittedly). Not that PJ are bad, I love them, but you get my point.

well, i happen to enjoy trivium and found the circle pit to be great fun (except you hardcore dancing bastards! why do i want to be kicked in the face, eh?) but i do reccomend seeing them live, they have loads of stage presence and well played songs.

Funny, the live tracks I've heard have been rubbish. Each to his own, I suppose.

Dead Can Dance

Amazing. I can't describe how much I fuckin' love 'em and now that I saw them live, I love 'em even more. Don't miss this concert.

Only problem is that they missed some of my favs':

Carnival Is Over
Ariadne
In The Kingdom Of The Blind The One-eyed Are Kings

But what the hell... it was amazing.

Saw Pathogen support for CHILDREN OF BODOM last night and it was amazing, the crowd was so psyched and both bands went off. Read my post in helheim if you wanna hear about it, I posted it there cause I thought it would start a fairly heated discussion. :P

Nightwish the other week - decent show but nothing extraordinaire - and Paradise Lost this weekend. Nice concerts... but I'll take them rather as a warm-up to the big Candlemass reunited/Destruction show in november. Can't wait for that one.

i saw dio last night, it was amazing, the best gig ive ever been to and i met doug aldritch twice!

best song imo was we rock, followed by heaven and hell-although my favourite dio song, dont talk to strangers kicked ass aswell.

(to all you haters of crowdsurfing, when some 40ishyr old guy kicked me in the head i leant over the rail and spat a big green dirty on his jacket)

Opeth, Nevermore and Fireball Ministry tonight. Think what you will about Opeth, but that was a great show. The only disappointment was during Nevermore - Warrel Dane's voice was suffering and the mic was too low, so his vocals got lost. But overall it was amazing.

Haaha, the rest of the people in the crowd found it hilarious. Why don't you ever go to gigs, zadster?

Lack of time, lack of money, lack of transport are the three main reasons. I'll get me arse into gear one day, maybe if (when?) Emperor roll into town. It'll have to be something special to mark he breaking of my Gig Virginity...

I have all 3 problems.
1.TIME-You have to turn up a bit late and have bleary eyes the next day, but it's worth it.
2.MONEY-I know this sounds bad, but just don't buy a cd some time, and buy a ticket instead!
3.TRANSPORT-With you living in a city the public transport should be efficient enough-that's what I use! But for the journey back (if the trains etc. don't run that late) you'll probably have to go with someone who can give you a lift back or something.

IE. You have no excuse!
Plus, if you wait for something special for your'e first gig, you might not appreciate it as much, as in you're not prepared for the heat and stench and assholes.
