I knew something decent had to come out of this project. This was the track was I was looking forward to, and it turned out pretty well.

Glen Benton (DEICIDE) - vocals
Matt DeVries (CHIMAIRA) - rhythm guitar
Rob Barrett (CANNIBAL CORPSE, ex-MALEVOLENT CREATION) - rhythm guitar
James Murphy (ex-TESTAMENT, DEATH, OBITUARY)- solo
Steve DiGiorgio (TESTAMENT, SADUS) - fretless bass
Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT) - drums

Yeah...I guess I didn't think of looking for it in the power metal forum, in an already existing thread. Sorry about that.

No worries Radical Cut, the song you posted actually belongs in this forum anyway.

And it isn't that good.

Decent effort, but not that good.

No worries, of course. I would have put it here, but I'd already started the other. Didn't want to clutter the board up. =)

i heard "the dagger" and thought it was pretty cool.. i mean the riff isn't out of this world and the vocals (by the dude from KsE) are kinda annoying. but the solo... holy fucking shit! it's by jeff waters and it RULES! [mind you, i'm not an annihilator fan either!]

i think it'll be pretty cool.

as for your song, i think i'll wait until the album is out and i'll listen to the whole thing later.

I'm sincerely worried by this. That little shit from Trivium has been boasting about how he's going to make a "black metal song". What bastardisation are we going to get?

I don't need a copy of this one, I already have a Coal Chamber CD to put my coffee mug on. 8)

I wonder, though. I mean, people think Jeff Waters did the other solo and they think James Murphy did this one, but did they? These songs were written by other people, did they write all the music or just the basic tracks. If they wrote everything then Robb Flynn and Joey Jordison wrote these solos, Waters and Murphy only played them.

What's the problem? You already know what it's going to sound like: A more 'core version of Dimmu Borgir's most successful single.

Not like it was Britney Spears announcing her debut at Nightwish's new vocalist or something.

Well, to the legions of people who despise them I'm sure it will sound just like them and any other "commercial black metal band" that they want it to sound like, but Matt Heafy doesn't have a scrap of the talent that Dimmu does. And before 8,000 black metal warriors (or just plain jerkoffs) come out of the woodwork to tell me how Dimmu sucks and aren't trve, I don't care.

Agreed. Dimmu are OK, imho. A lot better than Cradle, anyway, and there's only so much pounding my brain can take before it needs something lighter.

Anyway, if I can listen to all the non-BM untrve bands, why can't I listen to untrve BM? It would be more in keeping with my beliefs to only listen to Dimmu!

Y'know, nothing in that post I wrote implied disdain for Dimmu Borgir. It doesn't take any talent at all to rip off another band.

Bad day?
