hmmm...the few songs I've heard off this (title track and 'Regenerator') I thought were pretty fucking good. I think you're being a bit harsh, but WTF, I'll be getting this anyway.

This album is much better than their first. It's a shame that you couldn't take the adrenaline you were so eager for in the first songs, because I was really amazed with this instrumentals and vocals, absolutely awesome, it's fuckin original thrash, the keyboards give it some freakin alucination (in a weird and crazy way). I think the album will grow on you, but not with 10 listens in one time. There are so many quallity and elements in there that I know they are there but still haven't discovered them.

100/100 ... The first instrumental music from the 4 Absolution parts is amazing, like the first music on the album. Biomechanical SHREDS !!! \m/  \m/

I'd give it an 85/100.

I'd say it's better than an 80. It definately sounds different than Eight Moons - meatier, perhaps. Still very, very good.

I give it a 92. I really like it. I might even give it a higher score in a couple weeks. The vocals are great and so are the riffs.

I definitely agree with the last part. The final four are incredible, but the rest of the album really didn't come close. If the rest of the album had been up to the level of those last four it would easily have been an 80 or 90, but with only a limited amount of exceptional material I'm leaning more towards a 70 something.

You give one of the most transcending and original and amazing albums of the year an 80/100, while you give the new CoB a 93 when it deserves no more than a 20/100?

What is wrong with this world?

This is suprisingly difficult album to get into. However the first obliterating maelstrom that is the opening track prepares you. If this is not the best thrash opener since Cowboys Fron Hell opened a big can of whatever you are hard to please. It simply took my breath away. The rest blurs somewhat and I need to listen more.

But this is brilliant stuff. I mean does anyone else sound like this.

No. They do not. Very significant release that the reviews do not quite capture.

I agree on the hooks side. Its very difficult to grab on to this album amongst the Symp X meets Pantera guitar style.

Definitely to become a cult classic with the passing of the years.

Its not Cynic but its Cynic meets SX, DT. Queensryhce, based on a Testament, Metallica, Pantera groove..

That the Brit's have done this American style metal so well is absolutely amazing.

I heard they sound kind of like Devin Townsend's work. So for that reason I have been meaning to check them out. And an 80/100 is considered an outstanding album here.

but cob/opeth's new albums both got 95ish... i'm a huge fan of both of those bands and i dont think either of them deserve over 75

EDIT: wow i just downloaded this album and its fucking awesome. It's like fantomas meets thrash metal meets awesome.

I'd give this CD about an 85/100. It's a killer fucking album, but it does suffer from the Too-Much-At-Once Syndrome. Sometimes it's just a bit chaotic to the point of distraction, you sort of lose your place in the song. SYL has this problem occassionally, too.

Other than that, I have no complaint. It's a killer album!!
