I must agree. I understand that there are those who simply enjoy the album and aren't being idiots about it, but there are so many jerkoff metalcore clowns touting this as the be-all end-all of music. It's like lizardtail said recently about Opeth, they are probably the most interesting band someone who is only window-shopping in metal will hear. Similarly, BTBAM is probably the most original and "progressive" act that anyone in that scene is likely to happen upon.
Then I'm one of those who "simply enjoy the album". I don't care if it's called Death, Black, nu-metal, metalcore or whatever, I just enjoy what I hear. And I do enjoy Alaska more than anything else that I've heard lately. And no, it does not even matter if it's progressive, evolutionary or something similar. Since when does everything have to be original in order to be good, or at least considered good music?
