I voted "Miss" because even though it's not a terrible album, it's definitely Slayer's worst. The songs just sound so forced and contrived (come on, using the f-word 50 times in one song just to make it sound more aggressive?). Not to mention all the nu-metal influences.

MISS MISS MISS

The only good thing about it is that it's not Diabolus In Musica.

Completely terrible album. Radagast does have a point, though.

Miss.

None of those songs was worth listening to even once, and after the second try, it sounded even worse. Tom's vocals are forced, the aggression is more contrived than early Slipknot's, and the whole damn thing just screeches 'rushjob' even though it took them years to finish.

This is such a miss, i cannot believe it could even have been polled. If someone clicks a "hit" they are only doing it because and out of spite. This should be as lopsided a poll as I have ever seen.

Miss!

There isn't one interesting riff on that record. I can't believe it's the same band that made Reign in Blood. Diabolus in Musica sucked big time too.

Kerry and co. need to retire.

Uggh! Big Miss! This album reeks of Nu-Metal! What a horrible piece of shite! I even liked Diablolus more than this and that's not saying much. "Fuck your fucking progress, watch the fucking regress, now you're nothing! Paybacks a bitch, motherfucker!" I think that says it all. What the hell were they thinking?

You may be surprised. There are quite a few Slayer fanboys out there that will hail pretty much anything they release (as long as it's not a folk-country album) a masterpiece. And then there are the metal-illiterate or just plain stupid people that will call GHUA "br00tal!!!" and "their most aggressive ever!!!" totally oblivious to how fake the album's aggression/anger really is. Hell, even the album art (blood and nails with "Slayer" burned into a bible) reaks of desperation. "Look at us. We're so hardcore and rebellious because we put blood and nails into a bible!!!!"
I think this editorial describes the album perfectly: http://www.thezephyr.com/tunetime/slayergod.htm.

And for the record, I actually liked Diabolus in Musica.

I don't have it, and I doubt I'll ever get it. I think my collection will be fine without it. :D

Slayer have always been a 50/50 band to me. Half the album is good, the other half isn't. If they took all those good songs they could have released some amazing EPs over the years! =)

actually i never heard this one :P but feel tempted to just so i can hear for myself just how shitty it is. i hear the song "disciple" on it rules though...

the cover looks pretty cool imo... it's not like the old covers were any less corny.

I don't see how a long time Slayer fan can consider this one a hit. When measured against Slayer's classics, this one sounds like shit. Not to worry, though, Lombardo's back and Slayer's next album will kick ass...hopefully. :)
