I personally can't stand Dillinger Escape Plan's albums up to Calculating Infinity. Sure they can play like motherfuckers, but the vocals are the most irritating i've ever heard. I prefer both Irony and Miss Machine much more.

Also, everything by Obituary except for Cause of Death. The stuff with James Murphy is the only worthwhile material they've released.

Those are strong words. I say we cast out the non-Lombardo albums (anything after Seasons) and wait for the new album before declaring "Slayer sucks". I will agree that the Slayer-light era was a complete fucking disappointment.

There are so many shitty death and black metal bands out there it's hard to pick just one that stands out as worst, especially since the worst ones are usually (and rightfully) very obscure. There's a used cd store near me that has a stereo and headphones set out so you can listen to albums before buying them, so I've heard some serious steaming piles of crap that (hopefully) very few people have been subjected to. One time, I had the misfortune to listen to an album by a band called something like Althe...something. A long word I can't pronounce and can't spell. The first track involved a minute and a half of the same (crappy) riff over and over again as an intro, and then a vocalist who sounded like Dave Mustaine trying to do black metal and failing miserably. It was almost into "so bad it's funny" territory. Unfortunately, it fell just short of this mark, and was just so bad it sucked worse than pretty much anything I'd ever heard before.

Mortician gets my vote.

I agree with lord jotun Mortician is toooo much. Also Disgorge and basically all other goregrind bands...

Almost every brutal death metal album gets my vote here, grind as well. No thanks.

If opeth have an entire discography full of crap then why do all the Opeth reviews get over 90/100

Look at how many good reviews Michael Jackson got. Good reviews say not that much. It's good reviews by people with similar tastes that matter. But I don't agree that Opeth are bad, they are quite average though, or a tiny little bit more than that...
