USA supergroup Twilight is Malefic (Xasthur), Wrest (Leviathan), Hildolf (Draugar), Imperial (Krieg) and Azentrius (Nachtmystium).

Here is an MP3:

Woe Is the Contagion

Fuckin' awesome! I'm fired up, can't wait for the album.

I must say the atmosphere is quite strong, but where is the music? This sounds too much like a Black Funeral copy to me. I can't believe Hildolf and Azentrius had a word in creating this...

Well... I liked it and a lot, but anyway, remember this is only one track so let's not judge by one MP3 (the CD quality will be much better) and wait for the album.

By the way, I was very VERY surprised to learn Azentrius is doing vocals in this track, I was sure it was Imperial.

Actually i could figure some part in the music that seemed pretty good but overall the sound is too bad to consider it acceptable...Maybe the album will be better, i never heard their respective band so i can't tell what they are capable of.

To me, this sounded like I was in the engine room of a earth core drilling machine. Terrible.

Actually, when my friend and I attended to a metalfest, we heard some black metal in the distance, and since it was pretty good we started headbanging to it. Unfortunately we discovered we had been headbanging to a pumping installation when we moved closer  Pumping installations can make damn good BM sometimes

Twilight has failed at the execution miserably. I still think they have no idea what they are doing...

btw i used to love grind/noise.

BUt about this Twilight MP3, is this it? Is this what I have been highly expecting since I heard the news? It has somethink good in it, true, but this is rather vacuumish. If the rest of the album will be like this, I'll have to say this is the dissapointment of the year....

Well looks like there is still hope (can this be said when spoken of black metal?). There is a way better MP3 on Total Holocaust Records's page, www.thr.cjb.net if the rest of the album is like this, this will be a suberb release.

i bet every song is going to be different and the CD will end up as a very good and catchy avant garde grind/noise something :)

Funny. i just ordered something from THR and was close to buy that record too without having taking notice of this thread before... but yeah, that's a good sample from THR by Twilight

This whole CD is already on teh intarnets.. the more you know

edit: listening to it right now

Woe.. is the first track and when it ends, the CD steps down into more traditional riff based BM with a little background synth like choir or horns added in.. the atmosphere is thick, but the production and the drum sound seems to change on every track.. on one track it's so bad that when the vocals and the fast drumming combines, it sounds more like a wind tunnel than music. it doesn't really hang together very cohesively..

a few of the songs really are very good, but it's not the avant noise CD that the sample suggested it would be. I might not be the best judge of this, though, I much prefer extended length ambient black metal to the riff-based stuff.

btw can anyone point me towards a good Draugar release? never heard anything by them, I know the work of the other four band members

Where's the fucken sample? I can't find it. Fuck.

The song's pretty good actually. I like it a lot. (Listening for the 10th time in a row) And it's not so crappy in production I can hear every damn thing. The just doesn't have a great riff to hear that's all.

Wrote a review here on this site. It has most in common with Nachtmystium, but is far uglier.
