Wow that's crazy. I wonder what that police band sounds like. I'd really like to hear a clip just to see how his voice fits in with a law enforcement band.

No offense, but I kind of respect Matt a lot more now! How many people leave bands and say it's for one reason or another, only to do something completely opposite of what they said they were going to do?

Jesse left Killswitch Engage because smoke at clubs hurt his throat, or for numerous other reasons mentioned, all leading you to believe he was done with music. What's he doing now? He's singing for Seemless, and touring around the US in smoky bars.

Zak Stevens left Savatage to be with his family. What's he do? He forms Circle II Circle, collaborates with Chris Caffrey and Jon Oliva (both from Savatage) and releases two albums very similar to Savatage's sound, and tours the world for a few years!!

Recently the old singer for Soil joined Drowning Pool. Supposedly he quit Soil to be with his family and used to refer to Drowning Pool as "average." Now he's singing for them and tells his fans "I will make you proud!"

Matt Barlow leaves Iced Earth because his heart wasn't in it anymore. He wanted to pursue a life in Law Enforcement. It's been a few years now, no one has heard from him! No new band (well, you know what I mean! Hehehe!), no solo project, no going back on his word. Whatever he is doing, he's at least doing something in Law Enforcement. I can't do anything, but respect that shit!!

First, he can sing where he wants.

Second, this is not touring 200 days in a year, rehearsing every day, performing 2 hours a night, and getting three hours' sleep on a bus before waking up for the same thing again.

Third, his job is as a police officer. He's doing the band on the side. Just because he retired from being a full-time vocalist, that doesn't mean he's never allowed to sing again.

Wow what the fuck is wrong with this picture, how the hell did anybody find this, secondly, dude looks totally nothing like Barlow, im not saying is not him, but without the Jesus hair, damm this is a pretty fucked up. I mean on one hand, this is gonna get laughs and constant bashing from most, i for one dont really care, kinda stunned at first, but he did quit the band and said that it wasnt in him anymore. At least he's doing something with his life, even if this cop band stuff is real, which looks like it is. Man how things change, not too long ago he was kicking ass all over the place with IE, now a cop , jeez thats pretty crazy, thats all im gonna say. :(

It looks exactly like him if you look at any of the old studio pics with his hair pulled back.

I know it's him by looking at his face, but he looks so different w/out the hair though, i havent looked at old pics yet, will do that. W/e this is still pretty crazy if you ask me, i mean is good he's doing something he likes , i guess, but its pretty drastic change from being in Iced Earth and his appeareance and being a cop. I always thought that i was all bs about going to law school and all of that, i thought something else happen in the band and he quit. Just nuts man

Because he's a fxcking cop now!! They work like 70 hours a week!! Plus, if you read the website it says the band plays for CHILDREN at schools about staying away from drugs and violence. This is NOT a band like Iced Earth! I'd doubt they ever even practice!!

Get real.

It just goes to show you that music is not always everything that revolves around ppl, he's a prime example of that. I respect him no less, i mean if he's head wasn't in the band anymore, then i totally agreed with Jon , that he should of left. Iced Earth has always given 100% all the time. But like i said, if thats what the man wanted, then it is what it is, you just have to let it be. :?

I went through a stage of shock, followed by a little laughing (at the shaven head, not him), but the fact is he's probably happy. He's found his place and still gets to use the voice that has us spending page-after-page discussing him. Would anyone rather he stayed in IE, started to hate it, and therefore didn't perform at his best?
