Might go down to 99. Not sure. Only reason is I'm thinking I still like Slaughter of the Soul more, which was previously my only 100 album.

i thought my 80 was generous...imo the only track that comes anywhere near deserving that score is ghost of perdition which would get a 90 from me.

I'm sad to say that I have to give it a 0/100... But that's only because I haven't heard it yet!

How much of the album is the wimpy acoustic stuff? I actually liked that one album with all the less agressive songs (can't remember if it was Damnation or Deliverance). But I really like Akerfeldt's deathly roar and the heavy stuff the most.

I think you are reffering to Damnation.
Well, Ghost Reveries has it all

I listened to this album again today and really enjoyed it. I think i'd give it a 94 or 95. Might change though.

The hottest new metal sensation since Slipknot!

Enough said.

You think any Hot Topic kids are going to have the patience to sit through an Opeth album? I think not. It's just Roadrunner catering to the audience they want to cater to. It's not going to work though. They are a bunch of dumbfucks. How can you even begin to compare Opeth to Slipknot?

You know me all to well from previous message boards and my goat fucking tendencies... However, I did not make that, and it is a real advertisement.

Oh my God.

And I thought Darkest Hour's "album of the decade" campaign was bad...this is absurd on a whole different level.

It's hosted by imageshack. I won't believe that's real until I see proof.

I think Opeth being on Roadrunner is a good idea for them, as there will surely be kids checking out the other bands on that label, finding them, and being taken to a whole new level. Let's be honest, they're not exactly the heaviest band ever.

As far as me and Opeth goes, I bought 'Still Life' ages ago and liked it, is it worth getting any more or will they be too similar/have gone downhill from there?

I just subjected myself to the Hot Topic website, and there's no mention of anything Opeth. Besides, why is their logo different in this supposed ad? It's incredibly recognizable, hell, that stylized "O" is on Martin Lopez's kit. Also, the release date is wrong. "Ghost Reveries" comes out on the 30th.

This seems awfully like that "press release" about Opeth doing a collaboration with Slipknot or whatever it was.

Perhaps it is fake, in that case. I just found it on another website.

Of course it is! How many more cliches could you possibly fit into a single image?

I would have added some dreadlocks. And a baseball cap or two.

Since when did Opeth have five guys? Is that Steve Wilson in the picture as well?
