In sympathy. A willing return since late August.

The opening track is without a doubt one of the most sweeping and one of the most appropriate openings I have ever heard. Additionally, and without any hindrance of sarcasm, the recording can never be played loud enough!

A long held favourite artist of mine until this day, now that I have Ihsahn's new album in my possession, I am playing some of his recordings, from his youthful days, in tribute to one of the most seldom recognized great musicians of the 21st century.

^^I will not be able to import the new Ihsahn until sometime tomorrow afternoon, so I will not have the privilege of hearing it, until that time. I am expecting excellence, however, unlike the more unseeming experimentations with style, at least from the past several releases, from the man. The new album, however, feels very different, both from the art cover, and also about 20 seconds of sampling.

Wish older Sigh was more readily available for purchasing. All the power to the main man for an even greater ambition, and an even broader imagination. Let's hope.

New Ihsahn is great. Probably my favorite one of his after first listen. To be honest I never got that much into his solo work, but this is good stuff.

I knew it! The art work has a great feel to it. I will say that Ihsahn's solo career has been very uneven, to be completely frank with you. Debut was great, with many of his all-time favourites dominating his musical influences, and also just fresh off from the then newly disbanded Emperor.

The only album that I truly loved and kept coming back to was After. I love Ihsahn, and fully support him, but the artistic direction he took certainly did not settle very well on my palate. However, since he is a major musician, and has amassed quite the legacy for himself, I owed him so much and to keep listening to him in order to understand his outputs in a greater light was the whole intended purpose. It never completely came do that, unfortunately, but yet, I do have a greater appreciation for his other recordings and the not mentioned other solo material from Ihsahn, if not a genuine liking. I do have very high hopes for the recording just released today!

EDIT: I did completely love Eremita from the start. That recording is a universe unto itself.

The late Maestro-melody-maker in his chamber. He must now be making music with far distant galaxies in ecstatic dances.

A befitting recording to a fine Friday evening awaiting a new Spring just a few weeks away.

Almost 21 years pass since the release of this landmark recording, and I can easily say that this recording, and this band, has never completely left my playlist for any significant portion of time.

An album with a high degree of artistic pedigree and curious musical caliber. A good Friday night.
