Every piece on this recording, which are not really "songs" in the traditional sense of the word, but are arrangements and compositions, mandates a great deal of attention and focus, as the music is highly evolved and significantly elaborative. Serious music that never takes leaves of its sense of playful imaginativeness and abstract lightheartedness. It is never fragmentary but it is entirely coherent recording which is remarkable for the degree to which this album contains the complexity that it does, yet it is completely lucid in expression, and precise in execution. Masterful.

My first play of this recording. I don't think there is a noticeably "weak" Immolation album. Immolation have always accompanied their searing and sizzling brand of DM with equally fanatically imaginative lyricism. The music is yet again hammering and yet makes a clear statement about the extend to which it is extreme, but no less, thought-provoking in structure and rhythm. Calculative and destined to give you a sound lesson in DM supremacy, without an ounce of pretentious ideology, or silly flap-flopping. Realism in DM exemplified.

Re-playing a few recordings from late last night and other recordings which I had just received in the mail, posted in the purchases thread. By late last night, I was far too tired to fully engage with them. I need more time with them, with a fresher mind. I will post my now playing in the late afternoon, early evening. I hope everyone's doing well.

Mainly focused on these two recordings with some other varieties. I like them both very much and it is the case that my playlist has been mostly concentrated on the classical recordings as of the past month or so, I thought I would listen carefully to a few contemporary releases and give them a chance. Both of these albums are superb, but I need much more time with them. What I do know is a great wealth of artistic thought has been invested in both of them and I need to decide to what degree I like them. Much to love in both of these excellent recordings. Glad I invested in them.

Spectacular in its uniqueness. Velvety and immaculate in presentation.

My thinking about this recording has been given a few pages before. Suffice to say that I am rekindling my affection for Rush's earlier days, and cultivating more love for their brand of progressive rock.
