What a wonderfully dark and bewilderingly alluring recording. This is already my favourite Ruins album. I love it more than any of the previous ones which I have played and I have only heard it once, or maybe twice, since upon its release date. This is what happens when you rejoin a metal forum! The album is not terrifying in my opinion but is truly darkly charismatic and possesses a lot of gravatize. I am very pleased I am re-visiting recordings I have not done so in decades. Many thanks, North, for re-igniting my interest. This recording is so earthly.

I know I will most definitely be in the minority on this, but I think this album is a very strong recording by the doom metal masters.

On a second listen. Let's see how this goes.

Of Wolf and Man. A fascinating subject-matter and even a more seductive music. One of a kind.

I would agree with you completely, Husker. I would add however that I like At The Heart of Winter a bit more, and that's really because it has less blast beats and is more mid-paced. Nevertheless, as far as the current recording is concerned, it is just one brilliant BM release in many different regards, with truly minimal to be found that is wrong with it, whatsoever. Interstellar!

Obligatory listening to the rawest of energies and of their created infernal hell. The the immensity of this heaviness is immersive. Everything on this recording is so well-placed.

This recording was played quite a lot when it was released by me. I have not listened to it in a very long period of time, yet still it is fresh, and heavy as the hammer on the anvil. Furious and made out of pure steel with quite a few layers and textures, making it a rich DM experience.
