Husker, I will tell you that I listened to first four tracks of In Flames' Siren Charms and I thought In Flames have kept their essential Gothenburg trademark sound now with a strong alternative flavouring. We are now living in the second decade of 21st century, and they, like the vast majority of people who change have also changed accordingly. I did not mind it at all and I don't think that the harsh criticism of metal "fans" is justified. I think Anders sounds very good and the fine melodies are still present but have been transformed into something rather different while retaining a good measure of the original sound. The music has a very tranquil quality to it which I can certainly appreciate it. Good music.

Imaginative and surreal.

An entire otherworldly and authentically alienating musical voyage. It can be said that Ruins is not categorizable within a certain umbarella of genre classification but likewise it can also be said that Ruins is an entirely genre-defining band without any near neighboring distinct similarities, and in this, it stands uniquely independent and a towering act.

The sheer forcefulness of this recording's dynamical dissonance and determined prowess and its twisted riffing is truly a gem to behold. Not entirely well known but certainly an act which has had a few good innings.

Storming of riffage shattering the universal order. Although the album title suggests otherwise.

This band's ambition for the conceptual and the philosophical is truly impressive and their musical expression is on such a grand scale that mere words may be an underestimate to the sheer qualitative magnitude with which they dictate the complexity of their riffage towards the orientation of organization in which they write music. Utterly ground-breaking.
