Extraordinary and profoundly dramatic. Personally, I find A Forest of Stars most uncanny, sophisticated in attitude and wide-ranging in musical ambition. I understand that I do not have many sympathizers.

Thanks and welcome back. A Forest of Stars have remained popular here at least. I know myself and Zad follow their releases closely.

Good to hear back from you! My heart could not bare the utter emptiness of this great website. Yes, at the Archives people appear to have a lot of irrational and outright strange opinions about many established tastes. And so be it, that's fine. It does not take away from the innate value of good music. I remember vividly the considerable amount of intelligent music enthusiasts around our website. Deviant opinion that is never accurate knowledge is always common (even in the past around here, as it was the case) but the degree to which it has overtaken many people is a bit overbearing and just astounding and outrageous.

I am currently finishing up albums from late last night. Shall post my new playing album in a while.

Emperor the band remains very close and dear to me. And this live album is I believe a tremendous way to refresh and reinvigorate a band which I have been listening to for many years now. We all know what a brilliant musician Ihsahn was and still remains. I recall very lively and with what conviction and passion I would proudly wear Emperor merchandise. Never nowadays, but I certainly lived and breathed Emperor.

I don't think I desire to ever outgrow certain bands such as this marvelous early release. Primeval music. As old as the night. Such romanticism and might.

A pleasant change of musical climate. This recording contains outstanding production/recording dynamics. I think the last time I listened to Death was late last year or at best, early this year. Mind-expanding musicianship is always to be expected from this particular era of Death and onwards. Just like the cover art this album is anatomically precise.

From the metallically energetic to tempered energy of the metallically attentive and the patiently articulated. I understand my fellow posters including Zad, and North, do not quite agree with me, but I personally think this album brilliantly shines throughout its entirety. I know Husker agrees, as I have seen him play this album many times. Don't know about Thrash. Irrespective of all of that, I believe there always be one Tool such that there will likely be no genuinely successful offspring.

Well, who would have known one could travel through America in such short durations by astral projection. Joking aside, all these American musicians have certainly enriched my musical listening experience, and so on, the streak continues.

One of the few bands with an evergreen back catalogue. Human was a gamechanger for so many people back in the day, myself included. Sean Reinhert was only 19 when he recorded drums for this record. Incredible stuff.

I completely concur... And some more.

To preserve the living spirit of Mr. Schuldiner's, I shall continue the great American flame of metal extraordinaires. The greatest DM axeman, without a doubt, and a magnificent soul. May he rest in peace, gone for many years, but never forgotten. :dio:

After many years which pass from this album's release, it has invariably left a lasting allure on my mind which I can never be free from. One of best markers of a great release is that it involuntarily crops back up from the recesses of the unconscious, and then it becomes a sudden urge to listen to it. Alice in Chains has that effect on me (at least, later Alice in Chains), and I really don't mind at all. Brooding, bold, and undeniably potent.

He who possesses the emotional faculties to feel profound pain and sorrow, and still endure it with dignity and grace, and likewise, possesses the capability not to fall from the heights of ecstatic joy. And isn't that one of the few great human and least common capacities?

^^Interesting that you were listening to this just before I posted an update that MDB finished their next album. Hope it sees the light of day very soon.

Yes, well My Dying Bride is in constant rotation, these days, and for many remaining days to come. I will also humbly note the fact that I managed to contribute to a lyrical theme for MDB on the Archives as "tragedy" and it was accepted. I was very pleased to see that.

The imaginary theater of Aaron Stainthorpe truly raises the soul. And the sorrows continue...

I shall be returning to life-affirming music once again. Enough of sorrows and back to originary mystery and joy. A good night to all.
