Define Infinity (later, SilkCrimsonMoon) here. I have missed all of you very much indeed. It is great to be back. I contacted the great Zadok and he kindly and most generously activated my new username in very little time. I hope to stay here for long as I have abstained long enough. As for what I'm playing, I have come to love Motorhead over the past 4 years or so alongside with many other classic Metal/Rock bands.

I have not listened to Empyrium in a very long time. I am not entirely sure I can take a great liking to this album (2021) but I am listening to it and giving it its much deserved time. I would much rather have more structure and many more riffs. But that's not what you hear on this album and I don't think I can like it as much as early Empyrium, and so be it. Nevertheless, the acoustic passages still have a potent and marvelous presence. The vocalizations are also very emotionally charged.

Enslaved has been with me and on constant rotation for the past 20 odd years or so. I must say that this album took about 6 or 7 plays to fully grasp. At first, I knew the album held many treasures to unravel, but on even further plays, this album is cosmologically proportioned, and possesses colossal dynamical range.

I think it would be difficult and rather unwise to attempt to compare this current album to early Enslaved as they each contain completely different musical virtues, but I will say that Enslaved upholds legendary status, in my humble opinion, black metal or not. With so much changes in a singular domain, I would not desire Enslaved to produce Eld or Frost again.
