V, if you could hear the latest Audioslave single... well, then you'd hear how much Cornell's voice has degenerated. They play the damned thing around every twenty minutes on the local rock station in NY, so I get plenty of chances to hear him yelling 'Be yourself is all that you can doooo...' an average of sixteen times per verse.

His voice is now completely unremarkable. It's deep, and vaguely pleasant, completely unlike the screechy voice he had back in the day. I mean, shit, once I listened to 4th of July and then to Be Yourself, and if I didn't know for sure that it was Cornell singing, I wouldn't have guessed it was him. It would be funny if it wasn't kinda sad.

Head to Audioslave.com, and they'll play it in the background.

Agreed. Audioslave is sad for both ex-RATM musicians & Cornell... I liked is singing in Soundgarden & on his solo album but on this album it's so.... uninspired. as if he'd lost his voice...

but I don't blame it on Chris... give him a kick ass band and a few good songs and he'll still do miracles... :roll:

Battle of Los Angeles was the first cd i bought, and i still listen to it to this day. There self titled release was by far there greatest with out a doubt. I want to thank RATM, even though i dont agree with all there political veiws, they were great.
