Well I dont think I have to say much here. Edguy = Bad metal.

And no matter how bad Micahel Kiske gets.....I'll always have those first two helloween albums to cherish.

Actually, there is quite a bit of talent in Edguy, although I do think they've lost some steam in recent years. Maybe it has something to do with the oversaturation of power metal in the market.

Helloween has always had a certain amount of campiness about them, so I would expect those album covers. I always took Edguy to be a bit more serious than that...but this new album cover and usage of Kiske might be proving me wrong.

P.S. I have nothing against Kiske as a singer. He was one of the best at one time, but he is just not the person to be associated with musically anymore, especially in metal.

To be fair, they are reducing both the prices of the DVD and of the EP.

So, whether the DVD is limited to mostly back-stage and behind the scenes information, it's still worth the money and im sure for any EdGuy fans out there, the dvd will be a treat to watch.

I mean simply put, it's going to be cheap, it's hardly going to break the bank buying it, and it does have some live footage, and some footage of the Superhero song, however, I would have liked some more material musically, but it's not exactly a tragedy.

The cover isn't to be taken seriously either, EdGuy aren't really taking their image all to seriously, and want to have a laugh and joke about in the promotion, however, lets not judge their music via their new cover, given the name of the EP. "Superhero's" They obviously desired a comic interpretation of the band, so it does really make sense, and suits them too.

I'm definatly purchasing both the EP and the DVD, I just wish It was released sooner, the anticipation will kill me.

Edguy are damn good. I don't care what their albums covers look like! Yeah, cheesy shit like Lavatory Love Machine I can do without because their English isn't good enough to come off as funny, so it's just reads dumb, but I like this band. They're very, very good.

You are right, its just that not all the people get them,i preffer a band like edguy wich attitude its to not give a damn about what people thinks of them, to some poser band that pretends to evil and kult to impress the kiddies.

I am suprised Holy Terror would bash Edguy as much as he does unless it is simply the poppy flavor that is added and the untouchable catchy aspects?
Kingdoms of Madness is very along the lines to the two early Nocturnal Rites albums in my opionion. Especially the raw, Epic, and good songwriting touch with energy and charisma. Those 3 albums have similar qualities and have done so much for power metal as a whole.

I can see where some dont get into them, but Vain Glory Opera is still by far one of the best complete metal cds I have ever heard (ALL Genres INCLUDED!) This album is just Powerful and Triumphant. It is the perfect mix of high piercing Vox, Double Bass, and Anthemic Leads. Which is the major foundation for all metal. At least in its early Years.

I can understand someone not liking poppy aspects, but it kills when when catchiness is considered a bad thing. If music isn't catchy, what's the point? I want a cool riff to get stuck in my head for years. I love the opening riff to D&W's "Crimson King" because it's catchy to me and stuck with me for days.

I agree 100%. That is why most death/thrash bands are not catchy enuff and when they are it is for only a few seconds or a section of a song.
That is why I stick to underground black and power metal genres mainly.

Thats a good question, one of the few I hear around this place. To answer it I'd have to say that because of the rediculous amount of "pop" flavor in Edguy, and the fact that their music is about as unoriginal as it can get, its not the fact that they're unoriginal, its the fact that they can't even do generic well. And Tobias' voice is super annoying. And as far as attitude, I, as a matter of opinion, don't like their attitudes. its too much smiling and "posing" in front of the camera that really sets me off. How could they not give a fuck about what people think of them. If they didnt they wouldnt be so "pose" -friendly. Real metal bands with attitudes will continue drinking and not let the camera interupt the usual flow of things, that being powering up with a beer and singing a couple of lines from "A Night at the Opera"........by Queen.

TRUE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally agree on that !!!!!

@ Holy_Terror's quote: "And Tobias' voice is super annoying".

I personally think his voice is incredible !!!! But I respect your opinion.

For my part, I'm really confident with the next EP and DVD...

I sometimes like watching a band goof around. I mean, did anyone see the video of Nightwish where they all got drunk (Except Tarja) and started dancing naked around a tree, that was funny and definitely worth watching. Though the fact Tarja didnt get naked was dissapointing beyond anything in creation.

Don't worry, one day you'll see a naked woman. You just might have to wait a few years first.

Actually, as I woke my girlfriend up about 15 minutes ago she removed the blanket only to reveal that she was very much naked. I then climbed on her and well, I'll save the rest for your imagination.

soooo, you played some scrabble with her, eey

Nope, we played some "Don't Wizz On The Electric Fence"

10 points for the obscure Ren and Stimpy reference.

Well, just heard Superheroes. Not bad. The title track is kind of lame, but the "epic version" is lame as hell, so is "Blessing is disguise," but holy crap "Judas at the Opera" frikin awesome! LOL!! Funny lyrics. "Spooks in the attic" is pretty good too. I'm definitely looking forward to a new full length. Edguy rarely disappoints.

Heard it too.Not bad but its 2 out of 5 songs.Superheroes and Spooks In The Attic sound kinda different.More melodies, more keys and like a mix of Stratovarius and Mob Rules.I didn't like very much Judas At The Opera and only to say that Michael Kiske sounded lamer than ever on that song.
