Wow, thanks guys, thats some list all put together. This will take some time to get and listen to. I'll have to download some when I'm at a friend with my computer since I only have a beefy 56k modem at home...

The Industrial side of black metal is a rich vein to mine as well. Consider...

Aborym - With No Human Intervention/Fire Walk With Us
The Axis of Perdition - Physical Illuminations In The Sewer... etc/Deleted Scenes from the Transition Hospital (can't comment on their debut yet...)
Blut Aus Nord - The Work Which Transforms God.
Anaal Nathrakh - Domine Non Es Dignus (much better then their debut, that one was a pisswah)

Black/Industrial is a true evolution of the genre. There'll be more great stuff emerging from there in the next few years then there will be from seven or eight hundred darkthrone clone bands.

Lol Daudi Baldrs always makes me laugh a little bit when I hear it.

Anyway, after hunting down some Deathspell Omega I am indeed struck by its "religious" qualities. Fun fun fun!

Yeah!

No doubt it wouldn't be fun if I was being sacrificed by them or something, but those long ambient sections they do are quite lovely. 8)

I downloaded a couple of tracks of Kenose. Decided I shall not be downloading the whole thing, after being stricken with guilt after stealing "Mabool" from cyberspace the other day. :(

Do I like it enough to buy? Quite possibly, but not that desperately. I am low on funds, being a student, so they may have to wait. Would definitely go see them live if they came by though. not that this is likely.

Btw, your sig strikes fear into my very soul. :o

Dimmu Borgir and Cradle Of Filth... But you've probably already heard of them. Old Man's Child too.

Try Dragonlord and Tvangste. Those are the only two I can think of right now.

Well yes; it has been recently re-issued by Candlelight so it will be easy to find.

well im fairly new to black metal myself, so ill just list the small group of bands that i have found to my liking:

-Mayhem (a must)
-Darkthrone (also a must)
-Burzum (the final of the essential bands in my opinion)
-Catamenia (melodic black metal, interesting stuff)
-Dimmu Borgir is ok too, but not great
-Cradle of Filth is ok if you can ignore Dani's voice

im sure there are plenty of other good ones but i am yet to discover them....

PS
I didn't bother to mention Noenum as you said you already got their EP

EDIT:
Also if you consider Kovenant to be black metal, which i dont really, i rather like them, very electronic and melodic, lots of industrial influence

I seem to remember Mystic Forest being a very good name for kinda classical/symphonic BM. I downloaded some samples on Gasts recommendation and enjoyed them greatly.
