In spite of my love for the McColgan era, this is still their best album.

Before:



This is classic in every sense of the word. The musicianship, the art, the lyrics, the influence. Incredibly crafted melodies, deliciously dense, with seemingly endless variation. I can foresee myself listening to this five years down the road. Relentlessly dynamic and ruthlessly sinister.

Now:



The amalgamation of melodies generated from the synths and the guitars gives birth to something extraordinary. A germ in the Norwegian BM repertoire and a proof of the utter genius that is Arcturus. No album possesses capacity to come close to melodies and the atmosphere that this album beholds.

Something of a tragedy that we didn't get more Dio-fronted Black Sabbath, but this is a hell of a live album. Man sounds great on the Ozzy-era songs.

Their best in years.

Really? Better than "The Great Cold Distance?" It might be wise to check it out then.

Not a super big Nile fan but this record has some decent shit on it...

Why not? I realize At the Gate of Sethu was mediocre (2nd most recent full-length) but I've enjoyed everything else a lot.

New Drudkh/Hades Almighty split.

Drudkh is typically strong here, Hades Almighty is more of acquired taste, interesting split combination.

Not really sure I just never listen to them much.

A solid follow-up to Dio's late career gem Magica. Great guitarwork from freelance axe slinger Doug Aldrich who also contributed to a pair of excellent live releases from the band.
