I'm going to Sons of Anarchy after I get at least through the first season of Lost, which I admit to enjoying more than I had expected.

Lost features an exceptionally large network TV main cast of about 12 people, and the way these characters' pre-crash lives are weaved in and out of the main post-crash narrative episode to episode strikes me as both highly ambitious, and often successful. Execution doesn't always meet ambition, but I'm starting to understand the crazy hype this show was getting for years. I was smugly watching HBO at the time, convinced network TV had no merit, but over time I'm learning how wrong I was about that, like never even giving Buffy or Lost a one episode chance when they were airing live.

Lost was tremendous fun to follow in the beginning, but it got crazier and crazier and it was damn near impossible to satisfy people with the ending. i for one wasn't happy.

Yeah, agreed. The first couple of seasons of Lost were terrific, but it does go downhill afterwards. Downright tedious last season.

Been watching the first season of Brooklyn Nine Nine, fun show! I recommand it.
Started The 100 which is quite nice after three épisodes, let's see how it goes...
Another nice show that recently started is How to Get Away With Murder, not very believable but fun to Watch.
Also, The Flash pilot episode makes me want to see more.

I'll soon try Gotham and Forever, any thoughts on these shows?

Gotham is meh so far. Like there's absolutely no subtlety to it all. They constantly shove in your face that THIS PERSON IS GOING TO BE CATWOMAN or THIS FUNNY LOOKING DUDE WALKS LIKE A PENGUIN (GET IT?!). Also I really dislike the pacing....they're trying to cram so much in these first few episodes so that they don't get cancelled I guess.

It's not terrible though. The performances for the most part are pretty good and I like the look/atmosphere of the city. It's just pretty much what you would expect in a crime drama from Fox.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 1 was pretty meh imo, considering the cast, or 2 people from the cast anyway. it really looks like it's trying to be Parks & Rec and failing miserably. then again season 1 of P&R was also pretty crappy. will watch at least a few eps from season 2 to make up my mind.

the latest Walking Dead ep was pretty cool.

Thanks Goat and Azrael for tempering my expectations for the later seasons in the show. Anyway I'm enjoying the first one a lot right now, so I'm happy enough about that.

Brooklyn 99 is taking a while to warm up, agreed. Still, you're right that P&R took a season to become good...
Anyone else watched You're The Worst? Better than I expected, although that might just be from the sarcastic English man lead...

Walking Dead has been surprisingly good after two episodes. Waiting to be disappointed at any moment.

Supernatural seems to have shot itself in the foot after three episodes of the new season. Why build up to a huge epic showdown if you're going to solve it in one episode and leave yourself with nothing moving forward?

Sons has been solid, but not great. Just too slow-burning, but it can't be that way through the close of the show.

Hell on Wheels has been awesome and I can't wait till it picks back up in three weeks.

Gotham and Flash have me interested.

The show just seems more assertive in what it is doing than in the past. And they wrapped up a storyline rather than letting it haunt them throughout. The next episode with the whole hospital thing has me skeptical though. I'm also concerned that I believe I have seen everything from this season's trailer already and so I'm afraid of a drop in quality at any moment.

Gotham is very underwhelming. I expected as much from a show which is, for all intents and purposes, Batman minus the supervillains and Batman. The 100 also failed to make a good impression. I enjoyed the first episode of The Strain but haven't thought much of it since. Also the new season of Supernatural is exactly what I expected: god awful.

Watched the first episode, and yowch, it is gore-filled, isn't it? Also, Clive Owen's accent is a bit all over the place... But worth continuing with, I think. The Nun/ambulance drivers' interaction was a fun diversion...

Started Rectify, quite looking forward to seeing where that goes. Also, on Mad Men season 5, and it's as delightful as ever.

With Sons wrapped up and Walking Dead on hiatus, I need something new and Rectify might fit that. Tempted to just rewatch all of Justified.

Now that there are tons of comic book tv shows (Gotham, Flash, Arrow, Marvel Team Sorta Superheroes), are any of them actually good? It sounds like Gotham is bad.

And if anyone watches Parenthood (don't judge), that last scene from the midseason finale was a total emotional gimmick in a show built upon pulling your heart strings.

One episode was good enough for me.

finished Death Note. it was quite good, some very intelligent moments, but also some very annoying parts. I'M NOT KIRA, IF I WERE KIRA I WOULD BLA BLA BLA

fuck.

also, Brooklyn 99 is decidedly unfunny but i watch it for lack of other options.
