I voted LoG. I think Nile are wonderful in small doses, but when I saw them live the music got a bit monotonous. I was an incredible spectacle when the lead parts were able to shine through, but for the most part it was just a blur of speed.

whoever you love more I guess. If not a fan of either then save your money for something else.

Nile have no charisma whatsoever live, it's like they hired a bunch of session musicians to do the parts for them.

Lamb of God are a supremely excellent live band. They play with energy, passion, and precision.

I imagine LOG will be a lot more 'core live, so if you don't mind that go for them, but if you prefer good musicianship over crowd involvement go for Nile. I've heard as many say they're awesome as they are dull.

I saw Lamb of God once, and though I dislike the music, they did put on a pretty good show. Nile I don't know about, but I hear they're shitty live. Basically, go to the one you like better.

Meant the crowd as much as the band, more hardcore dancing etc as a result of LOG fans being more 'core. But maybe that's just me.

Tis true. The power rangers were out in full effect when I saw LOG that one time.

I haven't heard anything good or bad about Nile live, but I can say that LoG put on an excellent live show. It's a bit 'core', and there will probably be a lot of Hardcore kids thrashing in the pit, but they have good stage presence, and they do a lot of crowd involvement (wall of death, etc) that I really enjoy at shows. Who are the opening / supporting bands? Maybe if you're really ambivalent as to which one to see, that can be the deciding factor?

On a somewhat similar note.... to anyone who has seen LoG live: what's with the patch of hair on the lead singers shoulder? I saw them a few years ago at the NEMHF, and it's the thing that stuck out most in my mind about the entire festival. Was I only dreaming it, or has anyone else noticed this as well? I half expected it to jump off and start doing back up vocals...

Both bands are very powerful live, but I think you get your money's worth more with Lamb of God. Word to the wise though, if you decide to be in the middle of the floor and do NOT like to mosh and the vocalist announces "Black Label" get the fuck outta dodge, because he is going to initiate the Wall of Death which is the craziest shit I have ever seen at a concert..

I only saw Nile live, but that concert will be in my mind forever, seriously one of the best I've been at. The bassplayer that handled the chrismatic part is gone now. He wielded the crowd as most ease, everybody was going fucking crazy. The guy is a 2 meter high tank of pure force!

Everyone in the pit forms two big... formations on opposite sides of the pit and then runs into each other at full speed.

I was in it once. My eye will never be the same, and neither will my nose, but GOD DAMN was it worth it.

Having been going to shows since 1990 I have to say that crowds at shows these days SUCK!! Back then it was fun to mosh now all these kids want to do is throw elbows and fists, then push you down and step all over you. Back in the day people actually helped you up if you fell and it was FUN.

Anyway back on topic. I'd go with Nile, they are supreme live. INCREDIBLE musicianship.

Tell us how the support bands, Blood Shed Over More Blood and manournamesucksballs were when you get back, OK?

Lamb of God will most definitely be sold out by then, they're getting rather popular as it were.
