Retro nonsense.

I heard these guys on a comp and the vocalist is really weak, add the pseudo-throwback riffs and this is completely weak material.

I'd have to agree with Nickelback666. This is limp-dick and unmemorable riffraff, and further begs the question: why throwback when you can simply carve your own path? There are no benefits of aping a sound; you'll simply fall through the cracks of time, unlike Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate and Iron Maiden, who all did their own thing and are adored even to this day.

I disagree with both of you. Its great to have a retro band like this. Especially if alot of modern power metal bands and modern metal bands in general suck. There are only a handful of great power/trad metal bands out there. Chrytal Viper could end up being one of those bands. Iron Maiden is known by everyone because they worked the hardest

Except I like a lot of modern metal bands, many of whom are producing exceptional material. Power/heavy might be stagnating -- but that's because of shit like Crystal Viper, where instead of reaching out for something new and exciting, you're sticking to a preconception of what a genre should sound like.
