Sounds interesting Zad, thanks for the review. I'll listen to it soon.

Good comparison to older Aborym! Well I largely agree with your depiction in the review: (usually) interesting, and horrifying soundscapes, but I can't score it quite as highly. Why? The drums suck, as you noted with the overly programmed sound, I also felt the vocals were largely annoying, more than engaging. The strength of the album was the odd and distinct ambiances used throughout, and whenever a riff was played enough to be memorable, like in Mirror of Eden, as you noted. A fair chunk of this album sounds just like a mess, a hot mess, no doubt, but a mildly cleaner production, and slightly more repetition of the key riffs would have greatly aided a still fascinating listening. Like I noted in your Ruins of Beverast review thread, I appreciate this sort of stylistic risk-taking, and am fine with Evangelist failing in places as long as the project keeps pushing forward. Good review of a band worth a listen for fans of Portal and Mitochrondrion, or those that wouldn't mind a more death metalish backbone to experimentation resembling old Aborym or Limbonic Art. 78/100.

Fair enough, it is very chaotic and I do think there's better to come. This sort of music is easy to make but hard to make well; definitely think they've succeeded at the 'done well' bit, but obviously there's room for improvement. Glad you liked it as much as you did, thanks for reading as ever!

I would think so Karma, if nothing else, it is worth a listen. I bumped up my score a few points after repeated listening as well, just because it sounds so unique.

Still listening to this one, a bit of a grower but the density makes for repeated listens.
