Cowan out for 4 with an appalling shot against an attack that is average at best.

He's got the talent, but he'll need to whip himself into shape before the ashes.

Hughes and Warner looking very comfortable.

more Hughes fault for not realising Warner wasn't running then Warner's fault for not running I think, if it happens again Hughes form doesn't mean a thing you can't have a batsman liable to cause run-outs in the team against good fielding sides

bloody Renegades

at least Australia finally managed to win a test this summer, barely, bowling is a major weakness when you struggle to take twenty wickets in a test on a bowler friendly pitch

Yeah, true, but in fairness we were nowhere near full strength. Obviously, Cummins and Pattison weren't available for selection, which is a big hit before the test even started. Then with Hilfenhaus getting injured during the first innings, and then Clarke getting injured and not being able to provide support for the specialist bowlers, we were in a very tough position. I thought it was a really brave effort from Siddle and Starc to come through in the end like that.

this is true, I doubt Clarke will play in the boxind day test, can't afford to have him play and do his hamstring proper just before the Ashes

No one following the ashes? I think the 3rd test was heading towards an Aussie victory. Their bad luck, the weather intervened. I guess the 4th one would be more evenly matched since the Aussies would've grown in confidence.

if the weather had held out Australia would have won the 3rd test. England 9/200-something at stumps on day one of the fourth test. Meanwhile Australia A are on fire

Wow ! Never thought Australia would lose this one. I saw them pretty comfortably placed at 160 something for 3. A few hrs later, they've lost. Reminds me of the Indian team of the 90s.

were it not for a match winning spell by Stuart Broad Australia probably would have won the test. Unfortunately Broad came on and took a bunch of wickets for not many runs and completely changed the test. Of course he was helped by Australia's brittle batsmen.

Looks like Watson finally played to potential. Didn't watch the match, but had a look at the scorecard. Australia in a strong position.

Watson dominated. In the end he got out to a brilliant catch but Steven Smith picked up the slack with a ton of his own. Due to the time lost due to rain it's unlikely there will be a result in this test but Australia could well dominate the return series down here.

Being bowled out for 295 looked like being pretty sketchy but when England lose 6 wickets for 9 runs in 10 overs, find themselves 8 for 94 still 201 runs behind with two bowlers at the crease suddenly 295 looks like an outstanding score.

WTF? I just checked the scorecard. England quite unexpectedly collapsed. Looks like this match will have a result. That's good.

Mitchell Johnson was the reason for the collapse. We needed wickets and he bowled a fast, hostile spell no one seemed able to handle. It's a shame Johnson is so inconsistent because spells like that win test matches.

If you were an entomologist, you'd know why we find it so interesting.
