So, who's listened to it yet? Any opinions?

As I said in the NP-thread, I think this is a curious step for them, it's quite diverse. As if the three members wrote the songs separated from each other, so the band heads in different directions.

One wanted the album to be more epic and melancholic (They Rode On, The Wild Hunt, Holocaust Dawn).
Another wanted to strip things down to a more primal approach (De Profoundis, Sleepless Evil, Black Flames March).
And the third was high during the writing process, managing only to come up with the terrible Outlaw.

This one will take a while to fully appreciate I think.

So, anyone who's listened and want to share some thoughts?

EDIT: I was sure I posted in the Black/Death forum. Still it ended up in true metal warriors. Feel free to move it, thanks.

The core of Outlaw is pretty energetic but those fucking chants in the beginning and the last minute kind of ruins it for me. Reminds me of the Oggachakas in the song Hooked on a feeling.

Otherwise, the Wild Hunt is growing already. Saw them live in Uppsala yesterday and the new songs were great live.

De Profoundis and Black Flames March =

It's a shame that they cut down on the epic melodic tremolobased riffing they employed plentiful in Lawless Darkness though.
These riffs feels more rhytm based or thrashing. But I guess it's nice to mix things up a bit while still retaining the Watain feel.

But that is what I was coming to love about Watain :(
