Feeling really good. Had sex 6 times in 24 hours (new high score!) then spent the evening with my two favourite people. I have a plane ticket and a place to stay in Montreal. A going away party (friends); a going away dinner (family); a going away picnic (close friends). Life feels mostly sorted out. Romantic life is looking simple and hopeful. I'll miss current girl but my True Love (unrequited[?]) said she'd make me dinner and show me the dancing when I get to Montreal, which'd take all week.

Tomorrow I plan to sit and listen to Akimbo and finally watch the Canadian Open tennis semifinals/finals.
Oh, that life of yours...

Have trouble waking up these days. Spending the day running errands with the lady, then resting before waking up at like 8am to drive down to the GWAR-BQ tomorrow. FUCKING PIG DESTROYER!!!

I wish my parents were rich so I could be a freeloader. Fuck this working for a living.

Maybe I should go for a picnic.

Picnics are pretty awesome. Nothing beats some sweet tea and hot dish out in a field.

It's called a picnic blanket, bro. It's not like a fucking cartoon where the ants invade immediately.

At the end of August it'll be six years since I started reviewing for this website. Pretty amazing.

And it's been on a steady decline ever since.

2007, 'twas a callous year, and the scene of metal was in need of... a saviour.

I just checked my RYM join date and I've almost been an internet music nerd for a decade !

Made it to Montreal. Now to commence house hunt. Slightly nervous, slightly excited, slightly homesick. Apparently my dad cried after he left the airport and I've only seen him cry twice :(

leaving Portugal tomorrow evening. i'll be in Paris for one or two weeks and then my company will send me back to Brazil, this time for a whole year (before this it was 2 months in Paris and 6 months in Brazil).

the thought of leaving for a whole year makes me incredibly sad... i was sort of excited the first time because i had been job hunting for over a year and was anxious to start and travel again too, but this time i'm leaving Lisbon more satisfied, you know. also, being here and in Paris in the summer made me realise just how shitty my life in Brazil was. not just the unreliable weather and godawful infrastructure, in fact i wouldn't care about that if it weren't for the overwhelming loneliness that i feel there.

i live in Guarulhos, a 1.2M person city 10km from São Paulo, but all my friends live in SP proper, and traffic+shitty public transportation make it impossible to go there on weekdays. 5 days a week i have no human interaction after work. my work colleagues are nice and all that, but they're all 40+ and have kids (i'm 26) and we don't like hang out and party and shit. i get the feeling i'm the only foreigner there, as the internationals are usually based São Paulo. before this i underestimated how hard it is to build a social life when you don't have college or work (mine is a small company) to develop it sort of naturally.

on the plus side, spring is just starting there, weather will only get nasty again in June.

It's rainging on my day off as usual.. I was pissed at first but decided to make the best of it by reading and checking out some new music... I have been listening to Nhor's older stuff mainly.. This weeks review of the newest album got my attention.. I like what I hear so far.. All kinds of crazy shit happening in life lately, good to escape into some music for a few hours..
