absolutely loving life in Paris. weather is great (really hot, but it's ok once you're done with the commute), found an awesome apartment, food is amazing... going back to Portugal for 2 weeks on the 12th... you have no idea how much i miss it.

the bad part of this is that being here reminded me of just how shitty and boring life is in Brazil, leaving a shithole like Itaquaquecetuba where i work only to go home to a shitty suburb like Guarulhos. six months there i still have only 2 friends in town (who conveniently live almost an hour away) and i spend as much time as i can on weekends in nearby Sao Paulo. living in a suburb has all the frustrations and inconveniences of being in a developing country (shitty infrastructure, general ugliness) while carrying none of the fun, excitement and interesting people you'd meet in a booming metropolis like Mumbai, Shanghai, Sao Paulo or Mexico City.

seriously considering moving to Sao Paulo, even if it means an even longer commute and a higher cost of life. i'm 26 and despite the money i feel like i'm wasting my fucking life if i spend the next year in shitty Guarulhos.

That statement gives too much power to one person. Forum conversation drying up is a long term trend.

Now that I think about, he's probably a large part as to why traffic dropped in the first place. I'm sure some people just got fed up with the stupid shit he'd post and not log in anymore.

I guess I should get my account going at MA again, still pretty popular spot there, no?

Yeah, I think a lot of the old regulars could have dropped off partially because of him.

Yeah it, MA still seems pretty active. You have the same signature? I might stop becoming a lurker over there eventually.

I'm pretty sure I'm still the Walnut over there, would have to try and log in to be sure. It's been a good couple years since I tried.

It's interesting, on my other metal-related forum there's a bit of chatter but not a lot about metal. Around here all activity seems to have died right down, I might start a few threads and see if I can help spark some activity.

Good thing Varg decided to murder him that day. Now you'll never forget your birthday the rest of your life!

haha. Attempting to get back into the rhythm of working out and doing schoolwork after having couch-surfed the last few months is rough.

Speaking of which, I kinda want to donate to his Kickstarter fund.

Haha, I agree with the MetalSucks guy on this. I'd feel for him if he wasn't such a cock in the way he asked for it...

Started my masters thesis. The more I read, the more I realize I will never get past the background chapter.

Yeah, he jumped the shark towards the end. Hence the kinda and not an "i'm going to do it now and y'all should too".

Background, as in lit review? The advice I would give is to just start drawing lines and recognizing that you can't do it all and do simply enough to get to your own claims, because that is what you're thesis has to be about: your own argument and what not.

Pretty much yeah, luckily, there really isn't that much data lying around on the stuff I'm writing about, but still 3000+ pages or so to be reviewed and picked apart for relevant points to my thesis. This thesis is mostly statistical analysis based on my own/my group's hypothesis, so I guess you're right about my argument/claims being presented in the background chapter -> confirm it -> discuss it.

Feeling really good. Had sex 6 times in 24 hours (new high score!) then spent the evening with my two favourite people. I have a plane ticket and a place to stay in Montreal. A going away party (friends); a going away dinner (family); a going away picnic (close friends). Life feels mostly sorted out. Romantic life is looking simple and hopeful. I'll miss current girl but my True Love (unrequited[?]) said she'd make me dinner and show me the dancing when I get to Montreal, which'd take all week.

Tomorrow I plan to sit and listen to Akimbo and finally watch the Canadian Open tennis semifinals/finals.

how am I feeling? well my legs feel like they're being ripped apart from the inside and I might throw up. A sure sign cycling training tonight was crazy tough. In spite of that though I feel pretty god damn awesome but do wish I didn't have an early start tomorrow morning.
