i don't think this is selling out at all. it doesn't sound much less heavy than they ever did, sounds more like the creative juices dried up a bit. kind of weird considering their latest album was easily the most original they've done.

I dunno, maybe it's the production but it sounds very power metaley to me, very fluffy stuff. I guess we should reserve judgement until the full album is out though. I could totally see them making this single very accessible and the rest of the album more in line with their past work.

wow, i didn't get that at all. i do still expect a solid album from them. they might not innovate much (save maybe for the last one) but they certainly are reliable.

Protest The Hero thank peeps for supporting their extremely successful indiegogo campaign. such a cool bunch. can't fucking wait for the new album, easily my most awaited one for 2013.

Eh, not really going in the direction I'd prefer, but at least they're less Cradle of Filthy now.

Season of Mist have signed Cronian, who will be putting out a third album soon-ish.

Check them out if you're not familiar, very good prog metal from Borknagar/Vintersorg members.

The Black Dahlia Murder's Everblack has leaked

actually sounds quite good. heavy as they've ever been, if not heavier. high-pitched vocals sound a bit... sicker. other songs seem better than the 3 preview songs they put out earlier. nice soloing, they have definitely improved in that chapter vs their first album or two. nice song titles, including "In Hell Is Where She Waits for Me" (excellent after 2 listens, btw), "Every Rope a Noose" and "Phantom Limb Masturbation" ().

don't think i'll be able to give it real attention before the weekend, but it's obviously going to get the most spins when the time comes.

Yeah they have grown technically more proficient over time but the solos on Unhallowed and Miasma are just so damn awesome. I will have to give this new one a listen, not expecting much though.

i prefer the solos on the last 3 albums, the ones with Ryan Knight from Arsis.

i heard a few times over the weekend and was rather disappointed. while In Hell is Where She Waits For Me is one of the best songs they've ever recorded, it takes a dive after that. "Raped..." did grow on me, and there are few moments in other songs that i liked, but overall it's arguably my least favourite TBDM alongside Miasma (another one with one awesome song, A Vulgar Picture, and a bunch of others i never listen to).

Honestly the best songs were from the EP

Also the new Black Dahlia isn't all that bad, pretty solid overall. I still don't like it as much as their older stuff though. Could be a grower.

hadn't heard Annihilator before  that song was pretty badass.

on the latest Black Dahlia Murder, i'll give it a rest for now and come back to it in a month or two. worked with Deflorate.
