hi everybody

don't post much here anymore, but i wanted to post this because i think it's one of the best metal songs i've heard in a really long time.

http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2013/ ... ream-house

my thoughts: fuck

do you like this? do you hate it because it makes black metal sound uplifting and triumphant? do you FUCK YOU ITS NOT BLACK METAL?

i am skeptical of anyone who dislikes this song outright. it's so goddamn good.

also: LOL at the album cover. a pre-emptive fuck-you to anyone who might hate on this for not being tr00 kvlt enough

hope everyone is doing well.

Actually listening it to it this very minute. Enjoying it. Definitely not kvlt, but fucking solid. You listened to Roads of Judah, right? Solid album. I just kinda wish I didn't have to see the photo of the dude in his sweater in order to listen to this. Now, I definitely imagine this playing in an Urban Outfitters.

I like the photo of them next to the Che poster best!

Not a fan of the vocals, but the music is quite good in a heavy shoegazey and not really black metal way. Why couldn't Neige+Drudkh make music like this on Old Silver Key? Not bad at all, honestly.

Urban Outfitters, for serious.

@noodz: I know, right? I remember scrolling through their merch store to find the new Converge album, and seeing them next to Trap Them and being like 'one of these things is not like the other'.

Who still uses "kvlt and tr00" anymore?

Didn't find anything special, unique or compelling about it, but seeing as how it's a big hit with the neckbeard set, I might have known.

"post" this, "post" that... fucking neckbeard metal.

trapt--I dug Roads of Judah but I am way more excited for Sunbather. I have never heard a black metal song so triumphant/uplifting, only thing I can think of sorta similar is this one band Petrychor but they're not as good.

cry of the banshee--Maybe people don't use "tr00" and "kvlt", but I am mostly talking about people who hate on them for looking like normal twentysomethings/not wearing corpsepaint, which y'all are doing. Understandable though, haha.

North of Here--I think the vocals on the track are too buried to be notable, but this video of him doing the Dreamhouse vocals live in the studio is really fucking intense. Skip to 6:16 and ignore stupid hand.

Don't hate on Petrychor. Dryad was amazing. Try Oak Pantheon: http://oakpantheon.bandcamp.com/album/from-a-whisper

Negative. Don't like 'em because they are boring.
Never cared one way or the other what any artist looked like.

What bands sound like them, if they are boring? Not trying to be confrontational, just genuinely curious if there is more uplifting shoegazey black metal stuff going on that I don't know about.

Perhaps the closest comparison I can think of is Alcest, but to me this track attains levels of cinematic epic-ness that Alcest does not really come close to.

Petrychor is really good, I listened to I Make My Home on repeat for like a whole night one time. I just think this is better, lulz.

A lot of their guitar playing reminds me of Agalloch, still not a fan of the vocals re: that clip you posted, Heatseeker.
