Am I the only one wondering what a "mariachi opera" is?
I imagined it being a combination of mariachi bands like the really goofy stereotype of Mexican bands that they have at Mexican restaurants in the form of an opera, i.e., with way more dramatic vocals. This entire time I basically have been thinkin' of the Mexican hat dance with the opera lady from the old Looney Tunes bits singing in her viking helmet. For serious.

Close. The singing wasn't any more dramatic, but there was a story. The songs didn't always go with the story, and there was about ten lines of dialogue, all of them awkward, but the music was good. I probably would have liked just seeing a concert more, but it was cute.

dunno. Surprisingly chipper? When she told me about kissing the other guy, all romantic love and desire to kiss her disappeared, and the same thing's happened, except this time I'm not hoping it'll come back. I'm not unhappy. Walking back to our bikes we laughed and sang together. Loneliness will probably set in after a week or so. Montreal is a scary idea now. Everything about her was very comfortable: when we first met I never worried about whether she liked me, when we were together we didn't argue, and now our separation has been mostly painless. Girls I was never with have put me through a lot more misery. I'm knitting a scarf that was going to be for her but now I just don't know...

Surely, you could just make it a foot longer and wear it yourself?

All of that listed makes me feel like you two might have been more suited simply as friends? Or I'm just used to my own relationships being a little hypertensive and never smooth.

By another dude do you mean a real man? You can like knitting all you want, but I can't think that goes over well with the ladies.

What they don't want is a pussy. All bullshit aside, I've never met a woman that finds needy wishy-washy insecurity appealing. Knitting her a scarf? After she stepped out, twice?

Is it any wonder? Women may want their indepence and so on, but they dont seek out omegas for mates, generally speaking.

My advice, man the fuck up, though at this stage in life it may be too late, sadly.

Who the fuck wants to be a "real man" anyway? If it means being like DevotedWalnut, then fuck that shit. I would rather do my fucking knitting like a boss than worrying about what girls or "real men" have to say about it. Times are changing, you don't have to be a caveman any longer, just the same as women are not required to stick to any sort of roles. Sadly, some people (like DevotedWalnut) get unreasonably threatened by amazing people like Noodles. Really sad the way grown "men" try to belittle people on the internet to feel tough.

Who said anything about being a "caveman"?

Times are changing but basic biology isn't.

I feel really dumb at this point. I thought she deserved my trust and respect and gave her too many chances and discovered she didn't trust, respect, or appreciate me.

Yeah well, everyone is attracted to confidence. That is not something that is exclusive to either men or women and it doesn't require you to be a "real man" or give up knitting. What DevWal is implying is the tired old shit that Noodles is gay (or less of a man) because he does things that are considered, or where considered typically girly. I usually don't respond to this kind of bullshit, but this time I feel like I have to say something just to show that there are people here who feel otherwise.
