it's cool. having seen some shows on it, it doesn't come off like the kind of sport for mere mortals.

as for jiu jitsu i'm so tragically uncoordinated i fully expect to spend most of the time on my ass tapping out while some girl has me by some obscure grip i didn't even know existed.

jiu-jitsu is the gentle art. Not size and strength. Look at Mousasi submitting Struve in a jiu-jitsu match, it's nothing to do with size.

To put that into perspective, Mousasi fights at 185-205 and Struve cuts weight to reach the heavyweight limit of 265.

Fuck Mousasi vs Struve. Go back to UFC 1. Royce Gracie proved that even a 140 lbs spaghetti armed flabby man can submit 3 dudes in one night. All much bigger than he.

Yeah, I see what you are saying and you're totally right. That post earlier was kinda incoherent and I wasn't expressing myself properly. What I was trying to convey is that you really just want to be wrestling with somebody at your skill level. But sometimes if you end up wrestling with somebody at your skill level who is twice the size of you, it can fucking suck. Wrestling in a university setting put me up against a bunch of bros who when stuck in positions would literally man-handle me in order to get out and it was just way too strenuous for simple practices, getting my neck wrenched by this dude whose bicep is the size of my head.

yeah i know about tapping dat ass, i mean like an awkward transition from tapping out to tapping in.

did the tests, somehow i lost weight in the last 1.5 years even though i've barely exercised and have been eating mostly junk since at least December (when i moved from Portugal to France). apparently i am very flexible but have dismal upper body strength. most of my fat is in the belly.

gonna start proper gyming tomorrow. groan.
