Yeah, The Days of Grays is an awesome album. Stones has some real duds though. This album has received nothing, but rave reviews because reviewers have to be objective and you cannot deny the sheer grandness of this album or the technical prowess involved. The people that don't like it seem like they just don't like this brand of uplifting power metal. It's ok cause I realize how ridiculous and cheesy this stuff is sometimes, but it's quality music. That cannot be denied. If your bored with the style or dislike the mawkishly sentimental nature of the lyrical content that's another issue altogether.

This album has me in a headlock and refuses to let go. The best of their return IMO, though not sure if it breaks 90's for me.

I do find it interesting that I listen to way more Stratovarious now than I do Sonata, because I broke into power metal on Sonata and never found Strato to be as compelling. This and Elysium have totally worked at changing my perspective, and I think will lead me to check out their older works in a new light.

Absolutely fantastic CD!
:D

While Sonata Arctica is sadly heading downhill at a fast pace and without a clear direction (their last 3 CDs have been 3 different styles), Stratovarius is definitely heading uphill.

I am digging this one a lot as well. Actually, I have loved everything done since Tolkki left. The vocal lines are quite fantastic.

This is a really good album. I've can't listen until now and I'm really surprised.
When I read the review I thought inmediately to listen the album but I couldn't until now. Now to check the new Avalon album of TImo Tolkki :)
