Taxi Driver, eh? Interesting choice. I approve.

2001
Dr. Strangelove
Eyes Wide Shut
Barry Lyndon
Paths of Glory

I like the rest too (Haven't seen anything before the Killing though, and Spartacus wasn't his movie of course, Lolita I am bit iffy on.)

I honestly much prefer the Jeremy Irons version of Lolita to his. A really great article on the two movies and book by Susan Bordo, I vaguely remember reading.

Django Unchained - liked it, but i much preferred Inglorious Basterds. the big shootout and the bag face scenes were brilliant.

EDIT - Didn’t like Christopher waltz’s character very much. it’s like he learned English from a thesaurus. i know he explicitly stated english isn't his first language, but it's not enough. Tarantino’s dialogues are supposed to be quirky but natural, and Waltz never felt natural here. i mean i liked him in the movie, i didn't like his long-ass dialogues though. then again, some cool moments wouldn't have been there if he were less, erm, verbose.

EDIT 2 - the more i think about it the more disappointed i am. dunno, it comes off as... lazy.

If I rolled my eyes any harder, they would have stayed that way.

10 Rillington Place - Creepy as fuck. Amazing performance from Attenborough.

It's a work of art, but quite slow.

Kubrick is all about the slow burn. He's the master of it.

Barry Lyndon is completely epic. Completely brilliant.
