first two are probably the place to start with TON as those were pretty much right after the death of Carnivore, next I'd probably go for October Rust (if you dig the first two that is) I like all their albums though but then my tastes are just a little odd

I know there was a song to rate in there but I can't get the link to work right now so sorry guys for holding up the thread

The Fall of Troy-Mouths like Sidewinder missiles

6/10

This stuff reminds me of driving with friends to hardcore shows in Phoenix and trading listening to post-hardcore for some death/black metal. The guitarist is immensely talented smashing his fretboard up, the riffs bounce around and the vocals vary from the typical scream of this type of music to annoying clean vocals. The harmonics deviate little from the opening riff, its kind of nostalgic really even though personally I never cared for this band. Passionate stuff, but not my type of post-hardcore

Destroying Divinity - Created For The Past

Nice intro, musically (not the spoken voice which just ruins the effect). The rest? I cannot tell, this kind of Death Metal just doesn't work for me despite its quality or lack of.

6/10 for the intro

King Crimson - Starless
Unfortunately never really got into King Crimson, and the last six minutes reminded me why. This is a little too much for me. 5/10

Blaspheme - Excalibur

Great stuff Stefan, I'll look into this band. Apparently the second album is very good.

Blaspheme - Désir de Vampyr

8/10

Main riff spends too much time dawdling until it speeds up a little, the vocalist hits a few higher notes as the background vocals hit a few higher notes of their own. Musically, the band resembles a stuff like Traitor's Gate, Tank, and other NWOBHM bands that fell between the cracks, the solo is nice and overall the riffing is a great mixture of heaviness and melody that sets bands like this apart from some of the more hard rock influenced NWOBHM bands.

Hour Of 13 - The Ritualist

mmmmm yes this is pretty decent, nice riffing, doomy vocals, midtempo song overall and the vocals do get a bit monotonous and dull so I don't think I could really put up with them for too long though 6.5/10

Don Dokken - Crash N Burn

Dokken has never been a great band, Don Dokken as a solo artist is even worse... As for the song, typical hair metal (unfortunately) not of the best kind

Ozzy Osbourne - Mr. Crowley. I have never engaged this song critically. I loved it as a kid, totally basked in how evil and dark this mysterious Mr. Crowley was to my childhood ignorance. I really thought they had tortured this dude. I dig Ozzy's slow singing although his vocals were starting to show age at this point. Is that a Rhoads single? It don't sound like a Wylde single. These days, though 6/10 maybe. It's crucial to my listening styles now, but yeah it doesn't do much for me.

Beehover - Pain Power
I quite enjoyed the music (I guess a kinetic doomy sound?), less fond of the vocals, 7/10.

What's that? Eddie Vedder trying to be Tom Waits? It's not bad, it's not good, it's American. 5/10

Tom Waits-Big in Japan

Annoying noise influence in the background, awful vocals, and genuinely those background noise/static makes the vocals sound like shit. The song is virtually the same all the way through, awful robot vocals, no riffs, and just a timid solo in the middle. Fuck that was awful.
