Not too familiar with Hoghart-era marillion, except for Brave and Season's End, but could this open a door for reviewing the classic prog album Script For A Jester's Tear? A brilliant cd along with Clutching At Straws in my opinion.

Well, it certainly is something I could lay my hands on but seeing how few replies this review's got, I have doubts about people around here actually giving a fuck.

One thing I'm glad about is I've got another 0 (well, the album has) from Tehom who didn't even bother checking it out. Didn't we have a thread about getting rid of his kind of permanent annoyance ?

Listened to and liked quite abit of this album. Not really familiar with any of this band's previous work. From the sounds of things I might have to change that.

If you like the sound of this album, Marbles is the one to go with.
That said, most people favour Marillion's first era with their charismatic frontman, Fish. Script for a Jester's Tear and Fugazi are the ones to try first.

Script for a Jester's Tear is the be all and end all of Neo-Prog, which generally speaking is a genre I can't stand. That album is magnificent though.

As for everything else this band has ever done....urgh. Even from Fugazi, the magic is gone. And I will never understand why people are so fond of Misplaced Childhood. It's awful!

I strongly disagree with that statement. Both Fugazi and Misplaced Childhood are considered classics, and both are amazing pieces of prog rock.
