I've had the luck to be able to hear them live few days ago, and bought the CD from Christofer's hands, signed, and talked with him a little. Not very usual to be able to do it before the concert, instead of at the end

About the disc... it sounds a little weird the fist time you play it. But in fact, which Therion release doesn't? I've played it some times now, and the songs grow in me each time. Some songs are truly great, like "J'ai le Mal de Toi" (it was also played at the concert). I don't like them all the same, of course, but although being French covers of songs of the 60s (not very fond of French, in fact), I got some of the songs stuck on my head for most of the day. Annoying or enjoying? Both

Nah, the disc is very brave. It was not made of covers to gain money, on the contrary: Nuclear Blast didn't believe enough on the success of the album, and Christoffer decided to pay it, as he did really believe. That's a thing I like about Therion: you never know what they're going to do next album, but it won't be conventional. And it isn't. A pity that it's Snowy's last contribution in the band, and a small one, but Vickström's really great, and his daughter's joining the band, good news. Very different from Lori (I saw them both in the concert), but also great voice!

If you remotely liked previous Therion releases, please give it a chance... I was not fully convinced first, but I am now :dio:

I don't fully understand... I suppose you're talking about people who has only one post and talks about "Les Fleus du Mal"? If that's the case... well, I've looked for some topic to introduce myself first, but I didn't find one. So, this one is my very first post here.

Oh, but now I've two. Cool :dio:

Well i wasnt even really bitching in the first place. I just said the album was different and that i , personally , was sort of disappointed by it because i found it a bit weird and not in the same mold as some of their previous efforts. Than that dude went nuts as if he was Therion agent or something

Trust me the day i will really be bitching about an album you will know it

where does this idea come from, what is a Therion Agent in the first place?
like a band would send freaks around just to stop comments on forums? do you know how many forums are there, how many people would one need to pay?

but as for this album, it really sounds good, french is the language of the best poetry after all...

I'll also jump on the one-post wagon and suggest you all give this album a chance, really. It is weird but good kind of weird. Yes, it's all made of covers but Chris and his crew put serious effort in bringing 60's classics to metal oriented listeners.

At first listen I was also "WTF is this?" but after a couple of spins more, I started to like it and each song slowly grew on me. I really dig it now even though it's not your usual Therion but then again, each album they made is different in its own way. This one, compared to Sitra Ahra (and even L/ SB), has a theme to unify all of the songs into one complete experience.

The same for me. And I've made a playlist with the album and the original songs.
