This is practically the dating thread anyways, so I might as well just ask since I'm curious, any of you guys ever date a chick with a kid? I was talking a little bit with this girl and she has a kid. I don't know if it will turn into anything, but I figured I should get some opinions before I get all in. It shouldn't really even be an issue for like six months or so, right? Insofar as I doubt I'll meet her little girl for a while, but I don't know if dating mothers is different than dating childless ladies. Any thoughts?

idk. i think sometimes its needed. but for the most part your right. you have to remember that the fucked up part about the death penalty is the people that should be executed normally arent. rapists and child molesters should be put to death in my opinion. where murderers ehhhh it depends on why they kill. a serial killer who kills for sport or to fulfill some inner desire who kills innocent people should be executed. where a guy who is in a dirty business and kills another guy in the same business, well... they knew what they were getting into when they went into said business. like if a gang member kills another gang member give him life. (life = 20 years) if he tries to shoot his gun sideways like a thug and kills a kid cause he cant fucking aim then kill the idiot.

i think the death penalty is needed to some extent.

i dated a girl with a kid. do you like kids? chances are you will meet the kid way before six months. it was good for me though. only problem is this: if and when things get serious she has a kid that you will be inheriting to some extent and she has a babys daddy. so all that brings drama. but if you like her go for it. it can be very good.

Agreed with Snaki. Watch your moves because the more things get serious the more she will find a way to bring her child into a the equation and she will pay special to see how you react to her child. It can be very meaningful but it can also be a bit stressful. So again, depends how interested you are in her and how far you're willing to go insofar as a relationship is concerned.

I think they only good reason for having a death penalty is to act as a deterrant. But I think these days there's plenty of evidence regarding crime rates and such to suggest that it's not really an effective deterrant at all. So with that in mind, I think it should be up to governments to demonstrate that killing is never okay, even in retribution.

Besides, if you really want some evil motherfucker to suffer, give him life without the possibility of parole. Surely, that's a worse fate than a quick death by lethal injection.

Alrighty... That makes me feel much better. I'm the best with kids. Baby daddy drama not super excited for, but maybe it'll be worth it. We'll see. Thanks for the input.

Never dated a mother, I'm afraid. But agree with general anti-captial punishment feeling. Don't believe that the state should have the power to execute people even if the person in question is caught red-handed - and there are all too many sad tales of people murdered who were subsequently proved innocent when techonology caught up. I've seen studies in the past showing that it's cheaper to keep someone in prison for life than it is to execute them (assume that this depends on the state in question, however!) and besides, I've always seen execution as a easy way out for the scumbag in question - let them rot in prison, that's far worse a punishment than releasing them to the grave.

My relationship is going very well, just to end this grim post with a smile. Not seeing her for two weeks now, hoping to catch up on reviewing and teh methulz in the meantime to distract my poor lovesick heart!
