D-press'd, dawgs. Single (although I actually don't care much), unemployed (that I care a bit more), and it's fucking freezing outside (THIS IS THE WORST).

In other news, I have a 2012 symphonic power metal album I absolutely don't want to review (but will nonetheless because quite a few people actually care about the band), a kickass Speed/Power Metal album that's a mandatory listen, and a worship band which is actually not a worship band but god awfully sounds like one (I had never heard that many ripoffs in one song, this is ridiculous). Busy week-end.

I also wish to say I'm going to review a BM album in the weeks to come (yes, me), so in advance: bear with me.

This keyboard warrior is salivating with potential criticisms.

I was giving a standardized spelling assessment to a 3rd grader today. The test gives me a spelling word to read to the child for them to spell and I'm given a sentence to read that contains the spelling word. The last word on the test was 'fear' and the sentence was 'The man had a fear of the dark'. I found myself going into Bruce Dickinson mode when I read the sentence to the student. I laughed.

? Ni l'un ni l'autre..
You're saying this because of my unique review this week? This is the result of low morale + things to do. It'll get better.

Wow, my very first stalker. I'm honored.

Well, as I said I'm not too cheerful and in shape these days. It'll get better.

We subscribed the same day, and I have only 12,7% more posts than you. Which means I'm only 12,7% more all over the place than you are buddy. Now leave me alone or I'm calling the police.

Here's my situation:

I've met this Colombian girl in my French class. She has smile that lights up an entire room and she is so unbelievably nice. I've met her once for studying and we have texted back and forth as well. I really like her. It's way too early to pass any judgement but I'm just waiting for the right moment to ask her on a date. She's only been in Canada for three years but her English is flawless. It also seems that she's not seeing anybody as when I asked what she did on the weekend she did not mention any guy in her life. Well, let's just strongly hope she's not dating anyone.

Thoughts?

Do it the old fashioned way. Find out what kind of interests you have in common through small talk, and then just invite her to see a movie which fits in with your shared interests. It's innocuous enough to pass as a 'just friends' kind of thing, in case it all goes wrong, but you never know, it might lead to some chemistry.

Nice. I have no idea how to meet ladies given that all of my classes are with the same ol' people in my PhD program and I have no extracirriculars. I used to meet women at bars when I was in my small Ohio college town, but now I don't have that option living in stupid Virginia. Any advice?

and a booming economy (or a bubble, depending on who you ask). imagine being there for the world cup and the olympics!

i'd definitely take it. heard São Paulo is rather expensive and not much fun compared to Rio or even Florianopolis (plus the weather is shit) , but the career opportunities there and all that...

btw the movie thing do it

This, word for word. If this works out then just let it grow slowly but steadily by regularly spending time together and doing things you both enjoy. Mutual interests are key so if it turns out you barely have any then I say let it go. But when it clicks it clicks and then you'll know. I'm a shy guy, especially around girls, but when I met my current girlfriend I talked the entire evening as if I had known her for years and it all came out naturally. So just hang out together and be yourself. If she likes you as well it'll all develop further from there.
