Wally, are we keeping last year's settings? Roster size, etc?

Here is where I make my yearly case for Rotisserie style scoring (every stat is a category we are ranked on all year, whomever ends up with the most points wins) instead of head-to-head scoring.

Head-to-head is more exciting, I guess, with a playoff system and 'rivalries' and such, but it is also notoriously random for proclaiming winners. A team can suck all year, but have a good month at the end of the season and 'win', and conversely, a team can dominate all year but suffer an injury to a top goalie and then lose in the playoffs. I prefer the system that counts a team's performance throughout the year, instead of just at the end in crapshoot playoffs.

*cough* LA Kings *cough cough*

How about we do both? One draft for both pools. No?

That might be interesting to see how differently the results turn out. Same draft, two different scoring systems. Hmm.

Whats stats are taken in account for the pool ?
How are the points distributed, how many players must we select, do we have to select a specifique number of players per position ?

Last year's stats:
G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHG, SOG, for skaters;
W, Av. goals against, Saves pct, Shutouts for goalies.

Roster:
3C, 3LW, 3RW, 6D, 2IR, 2U, 2G, 2 Benched. IIRC...? Not quite sure.

That's gonna require two different leagues though. I don't wanna look after two MR fantasy leagues....one is enough. :P

U means Utility. It's basically just any position except goalie.

Utility. A spot in which you can put the skater of your choosing (no goalie). Fwd, or D. It's a wildcard, if you like.

I'm much more in favour of head-to-head.

Several teams in real life can dominate a season and have a bad week and their year is over. Just like a team can struggle and stumble into the playoffs and have a good month and win it all. Welcome to the world of sports.

Now I understand why you don't like baseball, because the regular season still matters.

And spare me the condescension; I'm sick of it. I've been following baseball, (American) football, and basketball since before you were born.

Edit--I understand what Mestastable's position is, so that is fine. I knew what the answer to the league issue was before saying anything.

There's some tissue in the bathroom to blow your runny nose.

Awesome. You guys should get together and come up with nicknames for everybody.

Although that would actually have you confronting another human being.
