Good review. I need to get this ASAP. The fact Smirnoff's on this just makes it all better. Mental Home was such a good band, too.

Let me know your opinion after you get a chance to hear it.

A lot of black metal this week. I've never heard of this band but the review tells me I'm probably going to love it. Ukraine has some good black metal.

Well, after listening to this one and their previous one (Cold), I can safely say this is some awesome stuff. Love the acoustics (Agalloch does come to mind) and the guitar work is great. There's a few folk-y tendencies here and there too. After looking into the band, I was surprised to see there's an ex-member of Hate Forest in there.

The previous one has a definite Nokturnal Mortum feel in it and at times maybe a bit of Drudkh-like ambience (!). Great find, Alex. Love this band and badly need to track down this album and Cold.

I love Ukrainian BM. I need to get this!!
EDIT: I finished the first spin, and I really like it. Every respectable BMHead shall listen to this or perish in the unholy flames of Hell! My only complain is that's too fuckin' short, not even 40 min. Anyway, I prefer quality over quantity...

Ashamed that it's taken me so long to give these guys a proper listen - really should listen to Alex more often! Excellent album, need to hear the others posthaste.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat on these guys: apparently the only band from Kharkiv I haven't listened to yet.

I'm thinking I must have ignored them for so long because of those outrageously short tracklengths for a proper E. European black metal band (not counting the Dub Buk style...).
