Thank god. A $39 million contrat though, pricey (haha) for a 24-old goalie not even close to his prime. P.K. still has to re-sign, hope does soon. And I wouldn't mind some muscle in front, with the 3 bucks we have left.

Yikes, Dallas has a pretty scary-looking group of top six forwards: Jagr, Benn, Eriksson, Roy, Ryder, Whitney and Morrow. That's seven guys who can produce at least 40-50 points if they stay healthy.

But besides Roy, they have no depth at center. Ask most Sabre fans, Roy is a dressing room cancer. He's more interested in partying like a millionaire than playing hockey, and Dallas is a big party city. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

Why is October so far away?

I think Ribeiro for Roy is more or less a wash. Benn reminds me of Kopitar, he's big, strong and got real good hands. He's a stud and should only get better. So Benn and Roy are a solid tandem and center. Not sure about their bottom six but they look pretty good up front. Kinda weird to have two guys there at 40 but they both had good seasons last year.

Minnesota gets the two big fishes of the summer in Parise and Suter. If they both had to go somewhere together I'm glad it's Minnesota. I would have thrown up had they signed in Detroit.

The Wild's roster is looking pretty competitive right now. Another team to battle for those precious playoff spots in the West.

Canucks re-sign Mason Raymond to a 1 year 2.25 million.

Detroit hires Nik Lidstrom as a European scout.

Sharks hire former Devils Associate/Assistant Coach Larry Robinson. Robinson was with the Devils this year during their run and was a coach as well when they last won the cup. He's also a Hall of Famer.

Next season (if there is a next season) is going to be difficult for me because they blocked Yahoo Fantasy at my work. You'd be surprised how much of my fantasy hockey stuff I get done during the day instead of doing work, especially if we do an offline draft again. Gah!

We shall start the offline draft 3 weeks or something before the beginning. A round a day on average, it's doable without internet at work.

And yes, we should start the draft very early September. And I think doing it here again will be best.
