I think the only one that matches the purity Heiman's voice is Elisa Martin (Dark Moor, Fairyland, Dreamaker). Judging from her perfomance with Fairyland I'm sure she could even do the old Lost Horizon songs justice.

No.

My other suggestions would be Jens Carlsson or Jan Thore Grefstad but I doubt their vocal tones would match Lost Horizon. Jioti Parcharidis and Urban Breed are lightyears away from Heiman, despite being very good singers.

Elisa it is.

Not being a sexist but a female voice would not be ideal in LH. Yeah it would be different but it still wouldn't work just because LH is more of testosterone style of power metal ala Manowar but without the cheese.

Heck I wouldn't even suggest Simone from Epica or Tarja for that matter and I'm a big fan of those 2.

The reason I like Heiman is the innocence in his voice when he's not screaming. Listen to some softer parts with him and you will hear he and Elisa sound very similar.
Simone and Tarja have a completely different singing style and wouldn't match LH at all.

And you probably would be first in line.

Seriously Hansel, a woman in LH is the worst idea ever. I prefer them disbanded.

I simply can't imagine or want to imagine Elisa singing:

If you once tasted treason from a female - leave that!
Every warrior has a gash on his sword
Don't forget you are metal, not some ass-kissing whore
Take some under your wings, but she must kiss the ring!

Probably. But seriously: Elisa Martin, of all women? In LH? Fatwas have been launched for far less than that, pal.

I did give my reasons though. She of all women (and men) because I think she sounds like Heiman more than anyone else and also has the range to pull the songs off.

Now that there's a female barbarian in the Diablo series anything is possible.

Sorry, I was just busting your balls because my hatred towards everything early Dark Moor-related is legendary (or should be).
You know what, vocals-wise it's not that bad an idea, she's indeed close enough. But as others said, I don't think she wouldn't fit and besides, her accent is a bit of a turn off. Although she's much better now than back in the days.

Damn, she's almost 40 now... time flies...

Yes that was a horrible suggestion. Honest, apart from Heiman, the only singers that would have worked would have been Midnight before he passed and Tony Moore circa 1988. All others just don't have the range/tone combination required.

Does anyone know if Heiman actually makes money with his new band(s)? (Lavett, and such)

The thing is that he hardly uses his upper range anymore. King mostly uses it as background not so much as his main vocals.

I don't know if it's because he's getting older or he just doesn't want to sing those infamous wails anymore or a combo of the 2.

And most can't stand his falsetto anyway so I don't know if anyone would welcome KD into LH.

King Diamond probably had the class and the know-how to use a better style of singing because he most likely realized how limiting and unnecessary falsetto 100% of the time is. His falsetto has little in the way of power, so needs a good modal voice he can always depend on would game plan.

When I got the first Mercyful Fate albums it was off putting how much he leaned on his low effort falsetto. I mean that in the sense of how difficult it is to control and how precise one would have to be.

And yet that falsetto is what most defines him as an iconic vocalist and one of the most unique in metal...

Personally it is his falsetto that always drew me to them. His mid range vocals are fine, but those wails..... :dio:

He sounds almost exactly like Barry Gibb but more nasal.

He should have said that to Abigail.

Ha ha. I'm so not funny.
