+1, nice review Thomas.

Their first two albums are still my favourite but this one is quite excellent too, i dont get why people are complaining about this one not being as doomy as Iron Will, Iron Will had very few if any doom elements at all, the greatness about Iron Will was the almost full Heavy Metal approach that Grand Magus started with Wolf's Return and perfected it with Iron Will, this one is a natural proggression from those albums, if you preffer their stoner/doom era look no further than Monument, complaining about this at this stage is idiotic, IW was not a doom metal album.

I'm very late to the Grand Magus party but better late than never as they say. Once again I need to thank everyone here for turning me onto some great music. These guys know how to write some quality material and by reading the comments it seems I have more GM albums to give a listen to. Thomas, great review as always :)

I read that last night as I was investigating Grand Magus a little further but what I can't understand is why iTunes (USA) doesn't have Iron Will available? I found that strange. So, I bought Hammer of the North and Wolf's Return which I have blasting as I write this. :dio:

None of them are close to Iron Will, which is by far their best. A masterpiece. You have to get that!

I know I should like these guys, I just can't. Don't know why. I think it's the fact that the singer sounds like the guy from Crash Test Dummies.

Just ordered Iron Will on Amazon for 13 bucks. I didn't like the last album all that much but I am willing to trust you fully on IW, Thomas.

Good buy, it´s fantastic! Easily one of the best heavy metal albums released in the 00´s.

I think you should listen more DW, you´ll get into them eventually. Iron Will is just too good.
