This is my top 5 so far for this year. Now remember these are just the albums i've been able to listen to/own. There are many others that may be very good, but i havent heard them yet.

5- Freedom Call- The Circle Of Life
4- Demons & Wizards- Touched By The Crimson King
3- Sentenced- The Funeral Album
2- Hammerfall- Chapter V...
1- Darkseed- Ultimate Darkness

I really don't think anything good has come out this year except for the new Cadaver album...other than that I find it all to be pure crap.

it's more classic heavy metal oriented than their usual material which was a good surprise... :twisted: a good album like metal delivered too few this year.... :roll:

The new Candlemass doesnt really sound like traditional doom, if they are still classified as doom. More traditional metal. One of the greatest head-banging riffs on the album has to be from the track titled "The Night And The Day". Awesome crunching slowish guitars with heavy bass grinding along....its sooo awesome.
Overall, this album is pretty good, but still doesnt beat the albums in my top 5 which i mentioned in an earlier post in this thread.

It's classic doom all right, just a little speedier. If you play doom it doesn't mean you can't get fast from time to time. Candlemass have had faster songs in the past as well, like A Sorcerer's Pledge or Into the Unfathomed Tower. Anyway, get it zadster, it's a very good album and un expected comeback.

2. Pantommind -- Shade of Fate
3. Circus Maximus -- The 1st chapter (definitely pulls a lot of influence from DT )))
4.Kamelot -- The Black Halo

5. (To be honest the above four are my only favorites for the year so far, however i KNOW this next album will be one of my favorites just due to the fact of who is making this album, so it's going in automatically, even if it's not out yet.)

I didnt think it was that bad. At least it looks better than the cover of Dance Of Death. It kinda looks like something Iced Earth would use...
