yeah, I know, it's not very metal but then good music can't be 100% from the metal scene ! does it ?

WHO?

all of those are great, but avenged sevenfold i didn't listen to often enough.
and how can't you know them? for example: Gorillaz is very mainstream music with all kinds of elements of different genres:

The first few seconds of the song "Beast and the Harlot" are kinda cool. The singing just ruins it. The chorus is the worst part. It's the want to be metal version of good charlotte.

My list has already had a change, it will now look like this.

1. Dream Theater - Octavarium
2. Dreamtale - Difference
3. Ulysses Siren - Above The Ashes
4. Leave's Eyes - Vinland Saga
5. Lana Lane - Lady Macbeth

And who knows if it'll change again once Depeche Mode get their new album out there! Sinergy and Blind Guardian would make it into my list as well, but looks like both wont be coming out till next year.

This year just isn't all that great yet and I don't know of any releases that will excite me unless Jon Oliva gets off his ass and releases Chapter 2 of Pain. 2004 I had tons to listen to but this year I've been listening to alot more non-metal music. In fact Ulysses Siren has been the only true surprise for me this year and it actually was released in the 80s.

Well usually if i dislike a song that much the rest of the album won't be my cup of tea either. But you you've heard the whole thing so tell me is that song drastically more shitty than the rest?

Well...
Mars Volta - annoying remnant of At The Drive-In
Avenged 7 Fold - biggest posers in the history of music
Ani DiFranco - hellish politicool harlot
Gorillaz - Emperor's new clothes garbage

All IMO, of course.

Mars Volta - heard (part of a track) and it sounded very annoying, esp. the vocals. Don't know if I could stand a whole 15+mins of it.

Avenged Sevenfold - I really, really, really hate these guys. Is it not enough punk has to be ruined by the poppers without them fucking metal up as well? Stefan, if you like hardcore mixed with heavy metal try a band called Byzantine (can't find a website, but there's a track on this month's Terrorizer mag( )), but for all our sakes stop encouraging young, impressionable teens to listen to such rubbish.

Gorillaz - Not heard much (what I've heard is very average stuff), but I generally avoid on principle alone any band that uses a 'z' instead of an 's'.

Ani DiFranco - never heard of.
Fantomas - Awesome, waiting to get 'Suspended Animation'
