Boring melody and the shittiest, most pretentious genre in the world.

Don't really fancy jazz and this is one boring song even for that. I think if the band should try a new genre at least there should be some similar element still, like a melody more suiting for Nightwish or something. This song sounds nothing like what I ususally buy Nightwish records for.

There's nothing wrong with them trying some different once in a while. It's not like they're gonna go full out Jazz on the next album.

Here's my take, for those who care, and missed seeing it in the other section of the forum.

Cool review man. While I do not necessarily agree with you, I can still see where you are coming from.

...While we're all showing off our writing skills....here's another take on the album:

Why Scaretale isn't listed in the Killing songs is beyond me (it's the only track I can listen to no matter when, for some reason). Otherwise, very good review.

I agree, Scaretale was the highlight for me, on the first listen anyhow.

I watched some of the video clips of Nightwish from Atlanta which was very painful. I still just don't understand what the decision makers in Nightwish see and hear in Anette that they would replace one of the best female vocalists in the world with this hack. She's just simply awful to listen to and look at. If you want to hear what Nightwish should currently sound like go buy Xandria's latest album.

She ain't bad to look at, on the contrary. And I agree on Xandria's latest album.

If you want old Nightwish, buy the latest Xandria album. Fucking thing rips, and is a spot-on clone of early Nightwish.

Am I the only person who thinks Tarja's singing is one of the worst sounds they've ever heard? I honestly - honestly - can't imagine a worse vocalist for a metal band. The songwriting used to be much better than it is now, but give me Annette's voice any day of the week.

It's a huge shame as it renders their output useless for me. When I like the songs, I can't stand the singer, and when I like the singer the songs aren't anything special

You're not alone in that. Tarja does a very weak impersonation of a female opera singer, and her drag queen look doesn't help rectify it. At least Annette has a more down-to-earth image. And nice legs.

Anette has been relieved of her singing duties in Nightwish permanently and Floor Jansen is now fronting the band.

This is awesome to me. I hoped they would pick Floor to replace Tarja.

(Cue the Tuomas hate and accusations of him having a huge ego.)

They say that Floor is just filling in temporarily until a proper replacement can be found...again.

Yeah, I'm hoping that's just a company line right now. Floor is the perfect fit, and it's not like ReVamp is a full-time band. Though they are great. =)

Yep add me to the list of wanting Floor full time.
