Definitely in my top 5 of the year. Brilliant record, not a single weak track. I cannot believe I missed out on this band for so long. In one of my former posts I wrote that it`s a shame it is coming out almost on the same date as Imeginaerum, and it is, cause most PM fans will probably rather listen to Nightwish, but As the World Bleeds destroys it.
Good review. Now I have to check our first two records.

I've been a fan since the s/t and this is by far their best. So, I think you may be disappointed with the others. I echo everybody here, great album, in my top 5 as well.

I love these guys, but I think the debut has the catchiest songs they've done.

True. It would be awesome if they re-record the debut with the production of the new album.

As the World Bleeds is really good, but is hard to recover after I Am. That song is too epic for its own good, because the rest of the album pales in comparison. It's so good that for a minute a considered becoming christian :omfg:

I'm happy with all this Power and Heavy Metal releases at the end of the year... I need to hear the new Cage :dio:

From what I heard on Youtube the other day ( listened to entire Mirror of Souls ) the quality is doubtlessly there. The song Mirror of Souls is magnificent and I think I will not be disappointed. I have yet to hear anything from the debut so I cannot comment the production.

Don't get me wrong, I love them all... I just think Smith has become a better songwriter over time and it shows on his records.

I'm not liking this album at all. When will power metal bands recruit singers who have successfully made it though puberty or have a modicum of testosterone?

Who even listens to power metal and suggests this?

This band is something quite special to me : I can't stand the vocals, I can't stand the lyrics, but I really like the band and what they do. It's uncanny.

And, this one is good, but their debut is still my favourite.

Someone who tires of hearing the whiny prepubescent voices that are normally associated with this genre. The album sounds great musically but as Bruce_Bitenfils points out, the vocals and lyrics are just plain awful.

No, they're not. The lyrics are cheesy at times, but to say the vocals are awful is just ludicrous.

 Then color me ludicrous. I'll accept that one without issue.
